Entre tanto, su país entra en el vértigo de una guerra civil, cae el Gobierno que los ha enviado y nadie vuelve a acordarse de ellos ni de la isla, donde quedan librados a su suerte.
Setenta años después de ocurridos estos hechos reales pero olvidados, Laura Restrepo rastreó su pista, entrevistando a los familiares de los supervivientes e investigando en los archivos de la Armada mexicana y de la estadounidense, en viejas cartas de amor, y en los decires y recuerdos de los vecinos de varios pueblos de México. El resultado es esta aventura fantasmagórica, surrealista y conmovedoramente heroica.

Excelente libro de la escritora colombiana Laura Restrepo quien nos cuenta las andanzas de la familia Arnaud en la Isla de Clipperton o Isla de la Pasión como fue bautizada por Magallanes. Realmente un gran libro.
