ACTION; THE BRIDGE BETWEEN KNOWING AND DOING

It is seemingly easy to get ideas but difficult to make them happen. I get this question the most: When do I start, and when is the best time to start? And my answer is: Leap, Here and Now! Someone sent me this and I know there are a lot more out there with the same problem: “Hi Rudolph, I like your book on SETTING AND ACHIEVING SMARTER GOALS but my problem is that, regardless of how many goals I set, I never find a way to do what I know I should do. What am I supposed to do? It is not that I don’t know what to do, I know exactly what to do, I have all the information but I am always finding it difficult to begin. Beginning always scares me even after months of thinking and planning.” Have you come to a point in life when you know all you should do to succeed but one way or the other success keeps eluding you? How do we know when it is time to stop analyzing and thinking to move to action? How do we bridge knowing and doing? A lot of us are stuck at the same place because we have failed to take action on our dreams. We believe so much in the law of ATTRACTION. We have beautiful imaginations, pretty dreams and we meditate and speak words of affirmations. We believe we will get all we desire just by sitting down and imagining. One thing the law of ATTRACTION doesn’t teach you is in the word ATTRACTION itself. The last six letters of the word spells ACTION. Action is what will bring you success. The smallest action on your dreams will make a big difference on whether you can achieve your dreams or not. You may have attended seminars, conferences, got a degree and taken courses but you still seem far away from success. You keep marking time and you never make the step. I was a self-help junkie and you may be one, too. Always inspired and motivated to do something but never got anything done. You keep listening to all the world’s motivational speakers and then what? Often, we are caught up in a spiral of over-analyzing we never take action. Too much analysis leads to paralysis. You have read all the books and you keep hiding behind preparation. You can’t prepare forever. You have to come out and take action. There just seems to be this vast gap between what you know and what you actually do and achieve. This is the distance between knowing and doing. I know many have read a lot of different personal development and motivational books, blogs and writings. You have learnt a lot about what it takes to succeed. You have developed one action plan after the other. You have a timeline, a plan, a goal but nevertheless, for some reason, after being inspired you can’t seem to get past the point where you put the knowledge to action. This breeds a sense of frustration and the conclusion that perhaps such things just don’t work, or at least not for you. Yeah, I know, that is why I wrote this book because I know how it feels to be stuck, that is why I wrote this book. To not only show you how but to get you off your seat to take action on your dreams, NOW!
