One of my favourite romantic suspense novels.

Thiis is one of my favourite romantic suspense novels. it's action packed, well written with a steamy romance. I'd read it on my kindle and really enjoyed the audio versión with dual narrators. Very enjoyable.

wonderful fantasies

but beware the foreshadowing.
I've decided this isn't my favorite author. she plays a lot of the characters too monotonously.

Not too bad!

I could have loved it, but the female character annoyed me. To each their own, but I just couldn't stand her.
I guess I like my female leads a little less.....helpless and needy. Other than that I liked it.

♥ ♥ So I picked up this book because I REALLY enjoyed the last book I read by this author (Punching and Kissing) and this one had gotten even better reviews! Apparently I do not like what everyone else likes. I am not into this much sex in a book. If they weren’t actually doing it, they were thinking it, or planning it or even sometimes it felt like setting up scenes in the book to have the scenario of sex be the only option… Don’t get me wrong.. Sex in books is good but I didn’t feel the chemistry between Gabriella and Alexi which made their interactions less passionate and more just... sex. Also Gabriella seemed to not know herself and she was aroused by things she didn’t seem to want or like… but then did them anyway.. why? I asked myself.. To please Alexi? Or is she actually wanting to try this stuff..but she’s just hesitant? That part bothered me. I admit I started skipping through the last few sex scenes.

The plot of the story was decent and I think maybe had I not felt weighed down by all the sex I would have enjoyed the story more. I really dislike giving negative reviews, but I will be a bit more selective when reading the next Newbury.. Cause like I said.. Her other book was really great! This is part of the “Kissing series” but they do not seemed to be linked, at least not to the one I read.

The narrators both did a wonderful job. Probably the only reason I finished the book as quick as I did.

not a great performance

story was ok. it was a mash up of Transporter meets James Bond. wasn't thrilled about the performance. some parts were just read with no emotion or infliction and other parts nailed it.

This series has a perfect balance with a great story line, sexy times, darkness, alpha males, and HEA. Automatic download!

Good premise, weak follow thru

Liked the set up, maybe too much. The last third just dropped off. There were some significant continuity gaps, such that I wondered if there had been a hack edit and that was the reason for the inconsistencies. Then, the heroine: I assumed her weaknesses at the beginning were just a set up for character development. But, no modern woman I know would have made some of the horrific choices and comments. Especially a global hacktivist par excellence. If the woman was really that brilliant, she would know when seconds counted and respond accordingly. I wanted to love it, but ended up (mentally) venting at the heroine periodically for the last third of the book. Also, super stereotypes of Russians, as only an untraveled product of the 80’s or 90’s might have imagined. That was disappointing.

great story and love the narrators. I think the book could have been a little more condensed. but overall a great listen. definitely worth the credit

NOT INTO CRIME ROMANCE

I'm not giving this book a bad review. I am just not into crime Romance. I made it to chapter 39 and I had looked at how many chapters there were and I'm like yeah I can't go through with all this. the narration was really good in the story sounds like it would be a good movie...

not my fave in this series, but still good

Lucy Rivers could stand to use a bit more intensity and inflection, but she has a nice voice for narrating. Christian Fox, Amazing! I didnt feel like this story measured up to Texas and Punching in some ways, but Im really glad I listened. Not every woman comes thru trauma or tragedy w strength from the surviving of it. Some of us, barely survive at all. and sometimes long after its over we're still locked into that fear and we wake up to struggle for survival everyday.
