Really Enjoyed Learning About The Heyoka

I'm going through a bit of an awakening so am trying to figure out my purpose so doing my family history work. I am from Vancouver Island, but my Great Grandmother was a Cree woman from Manitoba. I don't know how the Heyoka term came up but there was a video on Youtube I was looking at and so many characteristics seemed to be how I've lived my life. I've always been empathic but still trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do? This is definitely seeming like me and things I've done all of my life.

I looked on Audible and found this book and was exactly what I was hoping to find. The Universe can be quite helpful at times.

I gave the performance a 4/5 because it's AI but it's fine. I prefer human narration.

Very insightful

The word Heyoka kept popping up in my awareness and when I first looked it up, I didn’t resonate with the definition. This book made it make sense and I can see how the spirit of Heyoka lives in me. Beautifully written book.

Firstly, I love that this was written by an indigenous person to help explain the culture surrounding the term Heyoka. Secondly, I also identify as Heyoka, and this book really helped me figure out why my experience is so different from everyone else’s in my community. For most of her stories, I had similar ones of my own that also stood out as “odd” at the time. The voice is AI, but it’s barely noticeable.

I enjoyed learning about being a Heyoka empath. Lots of good stories and informative. I only recently learned that J am one after receiving an Akashik records reading. I'm glad I now know why I feel things the way I do.
