this was AMAZING. non stop horrific excitement

this was SOOOOOOO not the story i thought it was going to be! No cute funny dog tale here! this story was a nonstop streetcar, careening around corners! coming to forks in the road and not knowing which way the story was gonna go until you were upon it! and just when you think you could see the endgame, the story makes a complete u turn into the darkest alley. i am shocked at how truly horror filled the story of our beloved Jed played out. The subject matter of a postpartum mother with lingering depression is triggering enough!! then there were the eerie happenings to Ava that were proving unexplainable and making her even more paranoid, Ava made a point of saying she was not a religious person.But eventually the reality of what was happening led her to believe there was something greater at play than just terrible happenings. This was completely amazing! a psychological thriller infused with paranormal elements that were perfectly suited to the story. this showcased the potential immorality and depravity of human behavior when dwelling too long in darkness and otherworldly evil. my blood pressure is still pounding. This is probably one of my favorite shani struthers, books!! i admit i was cryingbwirh our Ava on more than one occasion!! Very Intense subject matter! but of course, getting back to the true hero of the book, our beloved Jed. I love him all the more now! and, HE IS the best dog ever!!
