Jack knows that if Smart finds out the truth about him and Revile, he's as good as dead.

When Jack discovers that the Secreteer causing all this trouble also has information about his father, the distractions really start piling up. If Jack is going to help prevent a second RÜstov invasion, keep Smart from discovering his secrets, and find out what a shadowy, half-mad Secreteer knows about his long-lost father, he'll need to learn to trust his friends, and to find the true path toward becoming a hero himself.

the sequel is as good as the first book. The story is riveting and clean and fun.

Really good story line easy to follow with some good twists. Compare to Brandon Mull.

More Excitement

This is an exciting story! The narrator did a great job of bringing the characters to life. Audible needs to make Book 3 available because I'd rather listen to it than read it.

I would recommend this book for adventure lovers of all ages. The writing and narrating are enthralling.

What did you like best about this story?

I love that this book encourages boys/readers to see beyond what others think and say. The hero must choose right or wrong, choose to lead or give up, listen to advice, follow what is true. It's a story of loyalty, friendship, and defining his path based on what is right and true not what is easy. It has the same engaging and enchanting qualities as star wars but with a superhero spin.

Would you try another book from Matt Myklusch and/or Norbert Leo Butz?

I bought this to listen to with my 12 year old son on a recent 12 hour car trip. It never interested him and I would have rather been water boarded than listen one minute longer. I'm sure some will like it but we were not in the least impressed. Sorry but just warning some of you.
