Acerca de esta escucha
Hey, you. Are you debating whether to destroy something with your bare hands or curl up on the couch for a decade or two?
This book will solve all of your problems. (Sheesh, that's aiming a bit high.)This book is a cup of hot coffee, a ginormous bar of chocolate, or the magical fairy that comes over and does your dishes while you lie in the fetal position clutching a fluffy pillow.
Sometimes when life falls apart the only acceptable response is hysterical laughter. When things get so far gone, so spectacularly a world away from any plans you made or dreams you dreamed, you feel it bubbling up inside of you and you scream, "It's not fair!" And it isn't. Fair is an illusion, and life is weird.
This book will help you laugh at life's absurd backhands. This book is an empathetic groan of our collective unfairnesses. You might want to throw it across the room, and you might want to hug it like your new best friend. This book is about us sitting down together in our shared mess, taking a deep breath, gripping hands, looking the hard stuff in its beady little eyeballs, and bahahahaaing at it.
Life's not fair, but we can learn to love this life we didn't choose.

God's love, plans, and promises for you are forever unfolding. I get it, Momma. I totally get it. Every day you wake up and try your very best. You love, give, and pour out your life for the ones who call you Momma. But no matter how much you offer, there are still days you feel as though you come up short. You worry, "Am I loving these babies enough? Is this ever going to get easier? Why does it seem like I am the only one who cannot balance it all?" Sometimes we just need hope (and maybe a long, uninterrupted nap).

Have you ever looked at your life and wondered, “How on earth did things get so hard?” I have—more times than I can count. I’ll never forget how helpless I felt when it seemed like our life was falling apart, when our oldest daughter faced seemingly endless brushes with death, or when our finances were in shambles. In those moments, I felt everything I’d ever dreamed of, or God had ever promised, was shattering at my feet. But I’ll also never forget when things changed, when on the darkest of days I heard a voice whisper, “There is beauty in the broken.”

As Nora reminds us, there will be no happy endings - but there will be new beginnings.

At a time when we mourn public figures and national tragedies with hashtags, where intimate posts about loss go viral and we receive automated birthday reminders for dead friends, it's clear we are navigating new terrain without a road map. Let's face it: Most of us have always had a difficult time talking about death and sharing our grief. We're awkward and uncertain; we avoid, ignore, or even deny feelings of sadness; we offer platitudes; we send sympathy bouquets whittled out of fruit.

Is it any wonder so many people end up brokenhearted, divorced, abused, abusive, or even suicidal?

But in How Children Succeed, Paul Tough argues that the qualities that matter most have more to do with character: skills like perseverance, curiosity, conscientiousness, optimism, and self-control. How Children Succeed introduces us to a new generation of researchers and educators who, for the first time, are using the tools of science to peel back the mysteries of character.

Delivers it's promise!
I have never left a review, but this audio really deserve one! I picked it up in the middle of struggling with infertility and a miscarriage! This book did not change my life, it did not take the pain away. But it did lift my spirits and made me feel lighter! It felt as though I was chatting with a friend. The author is so down to earth, funny and relatable! I highly recommend this audio.

Just what I needed!
This book has helped me through some difficult times. I have battled with infertility and hardships in life and I related to so much of this book. I wasn’t alone, and that brought comfort. This book made me laugh, cry and really look deep into my heart. So thankful for this book! I have listened to this book about 10 times now and every time I get something new from it.

This book doesn't mock your struggles.
Most books minimize your struggles or make it sound like there's a magic action you can take to make everything work out or that everything gets better if you belive. Life doesn't work that way. It's not fair.
