Sweet story

Really enjoyed this book. Well written and flowed. Highly recommend. Putting on my recommendation list

Amazing setting and narration

The narrator was excellent, her Portuguese accent was perfect and helped transport me to São Paolo. The story was enchanting, a little slow at first tbh and I felt the main character was unlikeable at times, but I really grew to love each character and was eager to hear how their stories ended!

Warm, sweet tropics

I felt transported back to the tropics—sensual, a bit wild, and poignant. I loved the reader and highly recommend this book along with a rum punch!

Strong start - disappointing ending

The story was intriguing at the beginning but I found myself getting bored and I struggled to finish.

No story

I got this because I’m a Brazilian who lives in the US and I’m always curious about new Brazilian voices. This novel was highly recommended but it’s not really a story; it just feels like a character piece. I kept waiting for something to happen and at no point was I given anything worth sinking my teeth into.

Underwhelmed

No real story line that gets you engaged. The writer has a wonderful skill of describing scenes but lacks a story.

The narrators voice just didn’t do it for me, it just seemed dull.

Couldn’t get past an hour

The storyline was boring and Linda kept referring to her husband as “you” which I personally can not stand. No depth to characters.
