بعد رواية "البومة العمياء" لصادق هدايت التي شكّلت نقطة تحول بارزة في مسار الأدب القصصي الإيراني، يمكن اعتبار رواية "ملكوت" لبهرام صادقي الخطوة الثانية على سلم القصة الحديثة في إيران. الرواية تدور في فضاء سريالي بالكامل وموهم، وشخصياتها قبل أن تكون حقيقية فهي رموز وإشارات. تحاشى بهرام صادقي في هذا العمل كثرة الحشو وإطالة الكلام والتوضيحات البصرية، وعرّف الشخصيات من خلال الحوار الذي أدراه بين "السكرتير الشاب" و"الدكتور حاتم".
خلاصة الرواية :
يواجه أربعة أصدقاء كانوا يتسامرون معاً في بستان أحدهم، حادثة حلول الجن بصديقهم "السيد مودت"، صاحب البستان فيهرع به الثلاثة ليوصلونه إلى الطبيب الوحيد في المدينة "الدكتور حاتم"، الطبيب الذي لا يعرفه أحد من الأصدقاء الأربعة غير "الشخص المجهول". وأثناء العلاج يتبادل الطبيب الحديث مع واحد من الأصدقاء، وهو "السكرتير الشاب"، فيحدثه الدكتور حاتم عن حياته المريرة وعن مريض له يدعى "م.ل" قَصَد عيادته مع خادمه "شكو" من أجل أن يقطع آخر عضو تبقّى له في جسمه، لأن الرجل كان قد بتر في السابق كل أعضاء جسده. أثناء إقامته ببيت الدكتور حاتم لثلاثة عشر يوماً، يدوّن "م.ل" ذكرياته الماضية وأفكاره وإحساساته الحالية، وطيلة هذه المدة يقوم على خدمته والعناية به "شكو" والممرضة "ساقي" . "ساقي" زوجة الدكتور حاتم التواقة للحياة، يبدو أنها ستكون على علاقة بـ"شكو" وسوف تقتل على يد الدكتور حاتم.
لن تكون "ساقي" الضحية الوحيدة للدكتور حاتم، لأنه كان قد حقن جميع ساكنة المدينة والمدن المجاورة التي عاش فيها بحقنة الموت. لن يقتل الآخرين فقط بل سيقتل نفسه أيضاً، وكأن وجوده يكتسي معناه في الموت فقط، الموت الذي لا يريده ويحاربه، لكنه يقضي على نفسه من الباطن.
يدور موضوع ملكوت حول المصير المحتوم للإنسان وهو تقبّل الحياة الجبرية والموت. يبدو من النظرة الأولى أن صادقي يعتقد أن كل إنسان يبدأ في الموت مع ولادته، والقوى الغيبية ترسم له قدره الذي لا يملك تغييره. سواء قبلت الموت أم لم تقبل، خفت أم لم تخف، لابد أن تخضع له في نهاية الأمر. وفي هذا الخضم من يكون غارقاً في ملذات الحياة يكون الأكثر خوفاً من الموت. لكن ليس هذا التحليل سوى الغطاء الظاهر للقصة لأنها قصة رمزية وسريالية.
ملكوت كناية عن العالم الفاني والزائل. وكل من يتعلّق بهذا العالم ويريد الخلود فيه يجد نفسه، في لحظة مفاجئة، يتذوق طعم الموت عبر حقنة أعدها الدكتور حاتم خصيصاً لهذا الغرض.
الزمن الخارجي الذي تدور فيه أحداث الرواية هي ليلة تمتد إلى أولى بشائر الصبح.
