Humanity stumbles into a galactic war…a war of survival, a conflict with no end.
Earth has united under the banner of the Republic. Humanity's brightest minds have deciphered the secrets of the alien technology and have begun to reverse engineer it. An elder race takes notice of humanity's strides and intervenes.
Humanity is brought into the fold of a galactic alliance and learns they are not alone in their war against the insidious Zodark empire. Humans now fight alongside friendly alien races to end the bondages of slavery. Earth leads a planet-hopping campaign to destroy the Zodark empire and liberate tens of billions of people across the Milky Way galaxy.

rise of the Republic third book into the war
Great writing ,good story great characters easy to follow. One of the very best series that I've listened to in quite some time I can't wait for them to finish the rest of the books chomping at the bit.

Outstanding read!
I am not normally somebody who reads scifi, especially space scifi. I thought there was no way I could go through 3 or 4 books about space science fiction, but I found myself not able to stop listening listening. The characters are outstanding. Just when you think it can't get more exciting it does. I'm looking forward to book 4 which I'm going to start listening to as soon as I push send on this review. I know the thing that I wanted to mention, comma was I sent an email to James To ask him a question about something in book 3 and he responded to my inquiry in less than 5 minutes.. I might have just been lucky, or maybe James is just that good!

I can't get enough!
This series stands apart from most space epics due to its meticulous research, solid footing on very real world concepts, and completely realistic and believable military core. If you get distracted or frustrated with magical and unrealistic stories about space empires, this series will be a very believable and exciting alternative to the standard.
