Acerca de esta escucha

In the heart of a storm, Violet is struck by love.

Violet's passion is storm chasing, but she spends most of her year teaching students at the local college all about the science behind the weather. As another storm season begins, her star student, Lando, is invited along by Violet's team member Diane. Violet, however, is determined that this is the year she will finally let Diane know how she feels.

Lando hasn't had the easiest life growing up, and as the semester comes to an end with the death of her grandmother, the loss of financial support, her last hope is an internship for storm chasing. Without it, she has no opportunities for the career of her dreams. When Diane offers her a position on her team, Lando jumps without asking questions. What she doesn't expect is for the teacher she has admired for the last two years to suddenly hate her, the team to be dysfunctional, and the dream to turn into a nightmare.

With their futures hanging by a thread, both Lando and Violet must find the eye of the tornado.

New plot

First timer here on this author. It was an interesting 🧐 plot that hasn’t been over-explored. I give it two thumbs up. I would listen to another of her books.

So much fun

Stars: 5 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Narrator: Quinn Riley
Series: Indigo B&B Book 4
Steam Level: Steamy

I read this for the I Heart Sapphic 2025 Reading Challenge for the prompt Only One Bed.

Quick Thoughts:
- Age Gap AND Student/Teacher AND two Strap scenes in one book? Pretty sure Adrian J. Smith is trying to kill off her fans
- How did I never think to look for a storm chaser Romance? I’m exactly like the plethora of people who loved the movie Twister and watch The Weather Channel specials
- Diane is, hands down, the worst kind of person. Petty, manipulative, self centered, a first class jerk, selfish, and even more that I don’t have time to list. It’s understandable how Violet was manipulated to be in that friendship for so long
- The set up sounds like a love triangle but, don’t worry, it’s not
- The storm chasing scenes were so well written that it kept me on the edge of my seat as if I was watching it happen
- With every story I love Eli more and more. She really shines here in her sweet interactions with Logan
- Learning the back stories of Violet, Logan, and Diane explained so much about them without it feeling eye rolling, too on the nose, story points
- Jewel and Lea make a (very) brief appearance
- There were many times that I wanted Diane to get run over by the Hummer but none more so than at the end of their stay at Indigo
- The connection that builds between Violet and Logan progressed very naturally and hit every step to keep me fully invested in it
- I can’t stress how much it thrilled me that Violet gets away from Diane
- Loved the frank conversation Violet and Logan have about death. It was very realistic and actually wasn’t sad
- At this point I’d gleefully listen to Quinn Riley narrate old, dusty, outdated computer manuals out loud and then dry, boring sequel to it

Overall this book is probably my favorite installment of this series. It will take a lot for the last book to unseat this one. It has the perfect amount of drama, pining, danger, and happiness. Truly wonderful.
