It’s amazing to see recent writers repackage his observations & peddle them as an original thought of American decline. It’s all covered here, aptly dealing with the United States of Amnesia.

The “Review title” is euphemistic: Harsh truth. History repeats itself because it is a wheel called human nature, well laid out by Mr. Vidal over 20 years ago: “Today”.
