The ImmersionPlus series of original vignettes has been created especially for the intermediate to advanced foreign language students who want to improve their foreign language comprehension.

Each ImmersionPlus program consists of a variety of entertaining dialogues introduced briefly in English, and then spoken entirely in the target foreign language. The vignette is first heard at a normal conversational rate, then at a slower rate to aid comprehension. The same dialogue is then repeated at the normal conversational rate used by native speakers.

Must KNOW Spanish!

This is a great option if you already know a lot of spanish and have heard native speakers-if you haven't...then start with another option first.

Could be better

This is a selection for someone with prior Spanish language experience.
Excellent for someone needing to brush-up on their Spanish speaking/listening capabilites.

listener guide?

This would be a much better learning tool if the text version were available as a download as well. There is no way to reinforce the listening with missed vocabulary, etc.

If you are a woman you may not like this course

The scenarios are not only cheesy, they portray women as June Cleaver. They stay at home cooking and cleaning for their men, and do not have concerns past dinner, vacation, and shopping.

When inquiring about purchasing the booklet for this audio lesson, the publisher instead emailed me a PDF booklet - at no charge. Now I've got a visual for words with which I'm unfamiliar. Great customer service!

A booklet with the Spanish dialogs and their English translations is available from Penton Overseas (http://www.pentonoverseas.com/) for $3 plus $2 shipping.

Eventually I would have gotten around to looking up the words I didn't recognize, but to me the booklet is worth $5. Also I can be sure my translations are correct. Without the booklet I may have been a little uncertain that pan rebanado is sandwich bread, and that colmado nocturno is an all night grocery store.

Just what I was looking for

Training your "ear" for a new language can be a daunting task. Dialog in TV shows is too fast, and the vocubulary they use is too large if you're an intermediate Spanish student. This audiobook solves both problems by presenting dialog using a simple to intermediate vocabulary at both native-speaker pace, and a slower pace. I find the combination is an excellent way to improve listening comprehension on the way to becoming advanced to fluent in the language. It would be great if the publishers would add additional audiobooks in Spanish so I can get even more practice.

Great for Advance students

There aren't very many products available for spanish students who already know all the grammar and just need to practice listening to native speakers. This is one of the best options out there. I just wish they would come out with a sequel . . .
