Acerca de esta escucha

Christmas in Twilight, Texas, is all merriment and mistletoe. The Cookie Club is whipping up their most festive sweets, the townspeople are scrambling to get their holiday shopping done, and Joe - a hometown guy with a restless heart - is dreaming about the woman he wants to kiss most....

...And who happens to be staying at his sister's place over the holidays while Joe's sister is away. But Joe isn't quite sure he wants to be a living Christmas present to runaway law student Gabi Preston.

Joe thinks the sassy sweetheart he nicknames "Trouble" won't inconvenience anything but his healthy sex drive. But when he discovers the reasons Gabi escaped from her life, he aches to give her everything she's never had. As the magic of the season draws them together, the gift of love is the only one worth giving....

I'm sorry to say that the narrator wasn't a good fit for this book. As others have said, she was over dramatic. She'd make a good children's book narrator. The dramatic way she read didn't even seem to fit at times with the substance. I will say that she switched voices fairly well, especially children (making me think she'd make a good narrator for kid's books.)

Other than that, another amazing installment in this wonderful series.

Great story, though the narrator almost ruined it

Any additional comments?

Lori Wilde has a knack for writing delightful small town romances. A year ago I read my very first Twilight, Texas novel, which was Christmas at Twilight. I absolutely adored that book, and I knew that I wanted to be swept back to this place again this year. I’ll Be Home for Christmas turned out to be exactly what I wanted in a holiday read.

Wilde’s Twilight, Texas series is written in a way that you can jump right in anywhere and feel welcomed and right at home. There’s something special about being in Twilight, Texas during the holidays. The town really loves to celebrate this holiday in spectacular fashion.

The way Gabi Preston ends up in Twilight, TX is very much like what happens in that movie The Holiday. Gabi met Joe’s sister online, and the two temporarily swap homes. The reason Gabi chooses to getaway to Joe’s hometown is heartbreaking. Once she’s in Twilight, she meets Joe and immediately gets pulled into whatever the town has going on during the holidays. A couple of specially placed mistletoe and love definitely fills the air. Gabi and Joe’s story warmed my heart so much. Joe is such a stand-up kind of guy and endearingly charming! He’s a Christmas tree farmer with a huge heart and falls hard for the city girl. If you’re looking for a fun holiday small town romance, I don’t think you can go wrong with I’ll Be Home for Christmas to keep you in a festive mood. The holiday quotes at the start of each chapter are like chocolate sprinkles on top of the whipped cream of your mug of hot cocoa…little perfect touches that make the holiday sweet.

Audiobook Review
It was my first time listening to C.J. Critt. It took me a while to get used to her voice for Joe. I think I would rather have preferred a deeper voice for him, but overall I thought her narration of I’ll Be Home for Christmas was great and made for a festive experience. Critt has recorded so many books that I wouldn’t hesitate to try another narration of hers again.

There’s something about being in Twilight, Texas!

Lori Wilde stays true to Twilight

I couldn't even tell you how good the story is because the narrator of this book was so overdramatic and over annunciating everything that I had to turn it off. I'm avid Audible listener and this is the first time of ever had to do that. It is also the first time I have felt moved enough to leave a review. Save your credit.
