Acerca de esta escucha
Amazon Best Seller! Not the usual WWII tale, If My Heart Had Wings is a true story that sounds like a novel - a heartfelt tribute to first love, shattering loss, buried secrets, and a young widow haunted by the past while confronting a difficult, uncertain future.
“Loved it! The Greatest Generation all have their secrets in this endlessly fascinating and compelling memoir.” (Reedsy Discovery)
“Superb! A wonderful story of devotion and tough times....” (Nat’l WWII Museum)
At the height of WW2, 22-year-old Nina Raff learns that her beloved pilot husband has been killed in plane crash. To escape her grief, she upends her life, moves across country, and plunges into another marriage far too soon. For the next 20 years, she buries her sadness and ignores the past to appease her jealous alcoholic second husband.
But when her teenage daughter discovers a long-hidden wedding photo, an unforgettable story of love, heartbreaking loss, oppression, and family secrets tumbles out, compounded by a mystery the daughter is determined to solve.
It's war and its aftermath, told from a woman's point of view. Perfect for anyone who loves the history, drama, and romance of the World War II era.

Historia
In this powerful true crime memoir, an award-winning identity theft expert tells the shocking story of the duplicity and betrayal that inspired her career and nearly destroyed her family. Axton Betz-Hamilton grew up in small-town Indiana in the early '90s. When she was 11 years old, her parents both had their identities stolen. Their credit ratings were ruined, and they were constantly fighting over money. This was before the age of the Internet, when identity theft became more commonplace, so authorities and banks were clueless and reluctant to help Axton's parents.

From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

He was her best friend, her playmate, and her confidant. After his unexpected death at 50, Anne, just 20, was left stunned.

Great WWII love story
I really enjoyed this true life, multi generational, story about love during WWII and the years after. It is also a coming of age story for the daughter as she learns about her mother’s hidden love for her first husband. The author brings to life conversations with her mother. The author/ narrator did an excellent job reading and the sound quality was very good. I was given a free copy of this audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review

A wonderful listening experience
This is my first time with an audiobook and it couldn’t have been better. The narrator’s voice was clear, and the sound quality excellent. Ms. Taylor had all the perfect nuances. I found the story to be very well researched and interesting. Truly, a different kind of love story. If you’d like to know more, read the reviews on Amazon. Great Read
If My Heart Had Wings: A World War II Love Story was a great read by Nadine Taylor. This was a true story of star-crossed love, a brutal war, and family secrets that get unraveled. Nina was 22 years old during World War II when she found out that her husband has died overseas. She is running from her grief and decides to upend her life. She moved across the country and remarried very soon. When her daughter is a teenager she discovers a wedding photo that she never seen before and wasn’t of her mother and father. She starts to question things as her mother tells her of a life she never knew existed. I enjoyed reading this great true story.

An engaging story of personal discovery
"If My Heart Had Wings" is a story of personal discovery set against a backdrop of World War II. When a family secret is accidentally exposed, a conversational journey between Mom and daughter ventures into memories of love lost, yet still longed for. Read by the author, Nadine Fox details an engaging description that puts you in the pilot's seat "Flying the Hump" in the Himalayas. History and romance combine to detail a glimpse of what was, and what couldn't be.

A Wonderful Journey Back In Time
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to "If My Heart Had Wings," Nadine Taylor's WWII tale of romance, tragedy and second chances, told from the perspective of a devoted daughter. Her engaging narration is upbeat and heartfelt, as multi-layered as the story she shares so honestly with listeners. As a narrator, Taylor holds our attention throughout, taking a deep dive into family secrets with grace and humor. Vocal performance and sound quality are both excellent. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get lost in a bygone era full of courage and personal survival.

Well done
I read this earlier. listening to it is the superior experience. Ms. Taylor reads with an interest that lets the listener know her story is personal. I was interested all the way through. It's a story of families - and how missed communication and assumptions can change one's life. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed this one very much!
Loved the way the daughter told the mother’s story…going back and forth between recent time and WWII times, weaving a saga! Well done & a very enjoyable read despite recognition of human foibles of ourselves & others!
