Eleanor couldn't change the past . . .
Eleanor is a loner, who does not allow herself to interact with others more than necessary. As the story progresses, she decides to seek help through a therapist, and it is during those sessions that the reader learns more about what has made her, who she is. With that and her growing friendship with Raymond she starts to accept the past and her life starts to change for the better. Although a lot of the reviews found this story depressing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. For me it ended on a happy note, whereby Eleanor accepted the past and could now finally move forward.
And to think I almost didn't purchase this novel because listening to the sample English narration hurt my ears. When I saw it came in other languages, for me German, that sealed the deal. Please note that my ratings are based on that narration.

Entertaining, and Charming! I LOVED this book!
This book is fabulous! Absolutely beautifully written. It is an easy read with social and emotional depth. I instantly fell in love with Eleanor for her quirky, no-filter personality. I highly recommend this book.

Tolles Hörbuch auf Deutsch!!
Auf 0.9x fand ich es perfekt. Tolle Sprüche. Recht gute Story auch :)ist vielleicht nicht das Buch für Menschen die keine Fans von dunkeln, schräges Humor sind oder nicht wirklich mit einer Protagonistin die von psychische Probleme / soziale Behinderungen leidet gut identifizieren können oder wirklich wollen. Englisch ist meine Muttersprache aber konnte die englische Version vom Hörbuch nicht ertragen. Also für jemanden fließend aber nicht muttersprachlich begabt im Deutschen ist, war es wirklich perfekt etwas langsamer gestellt

Dang! It’s in German!
Should have paid closer attention when I purchased! Waste of money which is a shame, as I’m sure it was a good book.
