Als Single Mom ist es der absolute Albtraum, mehrere verpasste Anrufe vom Kindergarten vorzufinden. Vermutlich hätte ich vor lauter Angst und Selbstvorwürfen den Verstand verloren, wenn darunter nicht auch eine Voicemail von Bennett gewesen wäre.
Meine Tochter hat sich eine Platzwunde zugezogen und er hat sie nicht nur aus dem Krankenhaus abgeholt, sondern sie auch noch mit Pancakes versorgt. Auf ihn ist immer Verlass - schon, als mein großer Bruder noch im Sterben lag und wir uns abwechselnd um ihn gekümmert haben.
Jeder geht anders mit Trauer um, aber als ich den grimmigen Mann zum ersten Mal seit langem wieder lächeln sehe, glaube ich, dass wir einander guttun könnten.
Bennett zieht spontan bei mir ein, weil ich die neuen Anforderungen in meinem Job kaum mit dem Alltag als alleinerziehende Mutter unter einen Hut bekomme. Doch das hat nichts weiter zu bedeuten. Ich darf mich keines Falls in ihn verlieben!
Es spielt auch keine Rolle, wie heiß der hochgewachsene, breitschultrige Right Winger ist; wie gut er mit meiner Tochter kann oder wie verflucht fürsorglich er ist. Denn am Ende bin ich nur die kleine Schwester seines verstorbenen besten Freunds. Oder?
Dies ist der 1. Band der "Boston Badgers, Sports & Romance"-Reihe. In jedem Band geht es um ein anderes Pärchen.
