Acerca de esta escucha

The onscreen pairing of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz is at the heart of one of the most popular TV shows in history. Who would have thought that to get on the air, they had to battle both a network and a sponsor who thought the show couldn't possibly succeed? History of TV's Best Show Ever Superbly Performed!

Like millions of others, I have been a fan of "I Love Lucy" my whole life. Many accounts of its history have been written but none have the accuracy as told by the son of the man who created/produced and wrote it. Gregg Oppenheimer carries on his father's legacy and this time relating the story in Play form which makes it entertaining and informative. I knew many of the historical facts of how the series developed but I loved hearing them told thru performance as though we are flies on the wall of the principal players. Based on his father's book, "Laughs, Luck....and Lucy," by Jess Oppenheimer (also available from Audible), Gregg has transformed the well known history (well known to at least super fans) along with fascinating details those new to I Love Lucy might not know but learn thru this fun portrayal. Likely as a bonus feature, Gregg is interviewed by the Artistic Director of LA Theatre Works to add additional stories and insight that make listening thru to the very end well worth the price and time. If you love Lucy as I do, you definitely want to sit back for 90 minutes and enjoy this telling of the beloved history through the art of performance...likely just as Lucy and Desi (and Jess) would have wanted it told.
