In the chaos, Tom's identity is exposed, and Catherine is attacked with grave and mysterious consequences.

But Haiti has protectors of its own...and they have taken notice of these strange foreign heroes who seek to rid their land of a child-endangering criminal. Godless, soulless James never did believe in the legends from the peristyles which serve as Haiti's spiritual hearts. But as the vigilante couples close in on him with unexpected help, he's about to become a believer.
