What a Ride!!

Okay, this is one of the fastest audiobooks I have finished this quickly, Finished this morning! ❤
Thank You Author Labrie James, for sending me this audiobook, yesterday... Yes, you read that right. I was hooked from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down. Lennox grabs you straight from the first chapter. The murder of her best friend was so haunting! If you're looking for a twisted unexpected ending you will not see coming the Hunted is the book for you! Only rated 4 stars as I wish the FMC was a few years older but otherwise very well written and narrated perfectly. Please check your trigger warnings, as it does have very dark topics. Will be reading all the books throughout this series! ❤
After speaking to Labrie, she explained that she had Lennox underage for a period of time to create a character development throughout the series. ❤

Thrills and Chills

I thought that the plot was interesting and entertaining throughout the entire book. However, the last quarter of it was really my favourite. And the last three chapters! Ooooh boy! It was great stuff. I loved the end of this book, and I am so excited to get into it’s sequel.

James has this way of breathing life into these complex characters that make them feel so authentic. This is the third book of hers that I’ve read, and I just love her characters! From basically the beginning, Cory was my favourite. I really liked his story and how it all panned out.

I thought the thrills in this book were great, I’m not always the biggest fan of organized crime plots, but I thought things were done in a fast-paced way that it all held my attention. The only real issue I had, and this was probably a me problem, was that there was quite a few minor characters and at some parts I got a bit confused on who was who again so I’d have to go back to re-listen to sort things out.

I did listen to this on audiobook, and I thought that the narrator did a good job throughout the book. She emoted emotions well without being over the top or distracting. I think definitely think that the audiobook is worth giving it a listen.

Vengeance

Although I typically prefer biographical or fact-based books, a friend recommended Hunted by this local author, so I decided to give it a try between my usual reads. The story provides a lot of character and relationship development, which helped me feel connected to the characters. I was surprised by the ending, though it felt a bit rushed. Without giving away too much, I enjoyed the downfall of the antagonist, even though it came at the high cost of a beloved character.

One aspect of the story I struggled with was the age of certain characters and some of the relationships they formed with adults—it just didn't feel entirely believable to me. Additionally, while the narrator did a decent job distinguishing between voices (no small feat with such a large cast), the accent was occasionally difficult to follow. However, I adjusted to it after a while.

This is the author’s first story available on Audible, and I’ve already purchased the second book, Captured, to start reading while waiting for its audiobook release.

Great performance of an amazing story.

I have read all of the books by this author and to hear it as an audiobook version brought a whole new life and depth to it! LaBrie James has amazing story telling in a way that weaves the reader into the world of the characters in the story. Hoover Lynn has a skill of bringing the characters to life that I really appreciated and I look forward to listening to other books by these two. They are an amazing duo!

Amazing Thriller with amazing voice actor!

I normally don't listen to audio books due to my ADHD but OMG did this one catch my attention from the first chapter! I was literally gasping out loud as I would be driving to and from work. There were so many twists and turns, some I didn't even see coming! It was defiantly graphic from the start so if you have a weak stomach, prepare yourself.

I did love that there was a romantic element kind of in the background which added to the stories natural progression of suspense! I cant wait to see where those elements take everyone!

At first I thought this was a standalone in a connected series but this left on an open-ended cliffhanger of sorts and I NEED the next audio book ASAP!

If you love Suspenseful Thrillers with romantic tones, you'll love this series! <3

I also loved that the voice actor created different voices for each talking character!

I couldn't stop listening!

Hunted is my 2nd LaBrie James book that I've read and she sure knows how to pull you into the story from the start! I like how she pieced together the events that happened "that night" throughout the book. Hoover Lynn did an amazing job narrating and pulling me into the story. She performed with so much emotion and made the characters come alive in a different way. There were parts that were very hard to read so make sure you check your triggers.

Good story

I'm going to start by saying this is not my typical read. I'm a sci-fi reader mostly. I grabbed this one as a change up while I was between books.

The Good: The overall plot and story are excellent, through all the twists and turns I wanted to know what happened next and why. There were several surprises in the story that I could not expect.

The Bad: I am not a teenage girl, so connecting with the story was not an easy task. I think this book would be well recieved by someone closer to 20 year's old than me. I will say also that the writing style is more formal than my typical read.

very entertaining!

this was a fun, twisty story and I will be checking out the other books in the series! the narrator did tend to use the same sickly sweet voice for all side characters which felt very juvenile. she also switched the characters voices during scenes. one time it was so frequent I had to register a few times to try and figure out what was going on. I've definitely heard worse though!

loved this book! grabbed my attention in the prolouge. so many twist and turns. the narrator made it even better! loved how she made each person's voice different. she kept my attention throughout the whole book!
