El humor pudo transformar el pesimismo en optimismo. La resignación en esperanza. El presente en futuro.
A través del humor el pueblo judío ha realizado su obra suprema de sabotaje: la supervivencia. Ha impedido que sus debilidades sean más fuertes que sus fortalezas.
El humor es el arma secreta del pueblo judío. Los Nazis no lo han entendido porque los nazis no han tenido sentido del humor. Porque el alemán es igual al idish, pero sin sentido del humor.
El humor antes, durante, y después de la Segunda Guerra mundial ha sido un espacio de libertad en el infierno donde fue posible ser optimista y dejar el pesimismo para tiempos mejores.
El pueblo que no ríe está muerto antes de morir. El pueblo judío ha sabido reír para sobrevivir.
Cada día había un solo pensamiento: sólo un día más. En esos oscuros días en los que el futuro ya no era lo que había sido y en los que todos esperaban que mañana el futuro sea mejor, el humor fue clave para posibilitar la supervivencia.
