Very easy reading and very captivating to boot.

Can’t Put It Down Important!

Ms. Tate has done what every citizen should do; understand why and how your hard earned money is taken from you by officials in all levels of government, from the obvious IRS (74,000 pages), to all government mandated regulations which breed massive, calculated hidden fees forced on businesses and therefore paid by all citizens...who only get from the theft>LESS AND LESS FREEDOM!
A 12 year old can understand this book. It is entertaining, heartbreaking and frustrating, but most of all INSPIRING. I will be attending all local city meetings from now on. Please read it and share it with all!!!

Eye Opening

yes we all heard it before... death and taxes. must listen or read this book. as I get older and lived in different states you begin to understand what tax monsters live in your state with you. very informative.

Fun, Informative, Thorough.

Kristin Tate approaches the book as a field guide to taxation for Millennials. She organizes the hidden taxes (tax after tax after tax after fee after surcharge) by major life event from birth to death. How much money every level of government syphons out of your wallet will surprise you!

It's a good book to get you motivated to get involved in local government and demand transparency first and foremost. Take the last 15 minutes as a call to action, and call your representatives today!

Millennial Tone & Vocab, But Great Info for All.

The tone and vocabulary of this book are definitely targeted at young taxpayers. Some may find this off-putting. But it's worth the mild pain. I was already loathsome of government before listening to this. Now I'm simply irate. The scale of the theft is massive. The arrogance, more so. This book will be eye-opening for most.

An Entertaining & Interesting Guide to Taxes

This book not only had a thoughtful and interesting way of explaining different taxes in the U.S. ( and how they are applied to us as U.S. citizens), but, used history and unique examples from the author’s personal life to illustrate the point. The story flowed really well and was not boring or dry like you would think of most books on this subject. I felt that the narrator had a nice tone of voice for the story and captured and emphasized certain points and words that the author was trying to point out in the best way possible. I love Kristin Tate and thought this was a great read! Highly recommend listening!

Excellent Concept, Shrill Execution

Excellent premise ruined by absolutely brainless and shrill rants about several topics only peripherally related to the book's central premise.

One of the most notable was the Pro-GMO pandering--what does this have anything to do with the insane amount of pointless taxes we pay in this country? The author clearly had an agenda beyond demonstrating how overly taxed we are in this country to include this claptrap--particularly with the way on which she argues for it.

Would have loved to have seen more material that was explicitly about the book's alleged premise. And preferably with a more even-keel tone--less of the overly shrill tone that the author (and possibly the narrator) have imbued it with.
