Patsy Cline, the beloved country singer, soared from obscurity to worldwide fame before her life tragically ended at age 30. After breaking all the barriers in the Nashville boys' club of the music business in the 1950s, she brought the Nashville sound to the nation with her torch ballads and rockabilly tunes like "Walking After Midnight," "Crazy," and "I Fall to Pieces."
Earthy, sexy, and vivacious, she has been the subject of a major movie and countless articles, and her albums are still among the top five best sellers for MCA almost 30 years after her death. In the end it is her music, a standard feature on jukeboxes from Seattle to Siberia, that prevails and keeps on keeping on.

I really enjoyed reading this book!! My husband & I toured the Patsy Cline museum in Nashville. It was lovely to see a lot of Patsys dresses & other memorabilia. I would recommend you visiting the museum. You will be able to see a lot of things mentioned in the book.

Narration is so confusing...
I wished they used a certain voice for each person they're quoting. Female when quoting female, etc. Younger voice for Patsy & older voice for her mother, a different voice for Dottie West, etc. Hearing I & me at times they changed: one minute it's Patsy's Mom and the next is someone else. Very hard to follow.
Otherwise it's so nice to hear the details of Patsy Cline's life. My late Mother would've loved to have been her friend.

The real story of Patsy Cline
I enjoyed this book because it was written by and from accounts of people that actually knew her. It’s not Hollywoodized where you have to guess what’s fact and what’s fiction. Finding out what happened to all of the people in the book at the end was a great touch!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! So many incredible details about her life & her career that were fantastic to hear. I always knew that the movie didn't do justice to her life & this book has convinced me. Loved it & would certainly recommend to anyone who is a Patsy fan or simply a fan of all the classic country music. Fun to hear their stories of travels, etc.

Patsy Cline was a badass.
I loved learning about Patsy Cline but definitely felt the tone of the book and the narration both being from the male slant made it feel misogynistic at times. The book is long winded at times and I thought passages of it could be speedier. But overall enjoyable learning her story after loving her music for so long.
