Homegirl Ain't Gonna Make it
First off this is a quick listen. So if you don't have a lot of time this book is for you. The narrator in my personal opinion did not suit this type of book.

Gabrielle Homecoming
This book definitely has a harder edge than book one. Gabrielle come home to heartbreaking news about her parents. Gabrielle world is changing in every way . I received this review audio book at my request. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

CONFUSED 😕
Eric Reese, I'm CONFUSED... I don't know no more than the main character from book 1 being the same main character for book 2, after that; there is nothing that either book has to do with the other. I have to admit, I didn't like this book. It had a lot of run on scenarios that to me, held no interest of any kind. I kept waiting to see if the story was going to get back on track, but it never did.
The narrator from book 1 wasn't the same one who narrated this book. Now, I know that's not uncommon, but I just wasn't feeling this narrator. Chani Forde did okay and I'm the type of listener who would say to be fair, I would rather hear her in another book before I would give an opinion on her visual storytelling.
When it comes to the question of recommending this book, I would have to say no.

could have been one book
This book and the second one could have been made as one book. It just wasn't enough to really get into. To think she isn't going to make it you would think that it was huge problem but to me it was not that bad. maybe the title should be get over it girl
