The drug cartels and the illegal underworld ate a tough and dangerous place. Thiago and Manny’s families were once on the same side until something happened and changed Manny’s life. He never understood what changed but soon Manny was locked away and he never heard from Thiago again. All that changes the night Thiago shows up to take Manny away from his prison. There has always been something special between the two, but can that spark be rekindled after so many years apart?

Manny and Thiago’s story is an engaging story that pulled me in right away. The heat between the two is scalding and they make a good couple. After years imprisoned in a single room by his father Manny does not know how to deal with all of his emotions especially his anger at Thiago leaving him for so long. Thiago is determined to prove himself to Manny but there are rules now that he is who he is. There love must me coaxed back to life and trust must be earned, but Thiago is ready for the challenge. I loved seeing Manny grow with the help of Thiago. Soon Manny will learn what it takes to be the man at Thiago’s side. There relationship is full of ups and downs and through it all they must deal with the dangers of the underworld. Their story is full of emotions and angst. The men are part of the cartel world where your actions are on display and respect is number one. Romance is not high on the list and even in their own home Thiago must be shown respect. Their story is not for those looking for hearts and flowers with grand gestures. In this world strength is what matters. Narrator Joseph Thorson does a good job of bringing these characters emotions out and bringing the listener into the story.

I hope there is a second book

Manny has a lot of innocence that surprises me since his father was part of a drug cartel. Thiago is just who you would expect to lead a drug cartel. Putting them together makes for a great story, I hope there is a second book that will expand on their relationship.

Tremendous audio!

The storyline for this cartel book is fantastic!! The fact that the two characters have known each other all their lives, plays a lot into the storyline. I love that the connection is fierce and there is quite a bit of cartel drama! Fabulous narrator! What a way to start a series!!!

Thiago’s father dies and leaves him everything including a drug cartel. He rescues his childhood best friend, Manny. Manny has been locked up/imprisoned for the last four years. He seemed kind of child like at times. Thiago turned to his dark side in that time. The story was action packed and filled with danger, some dub-con, violence, love and sex. There’s nothing feel good about this story but it is hot steamy. This was my first listen by Joseph Thorson. He did a great job!

Taking Back Whats His

Separated by circumstances and not by choice, Manny and Thiago had a bond like no other.
When Thiago becomes the Jefe he knows he will stop at nothing to get back what is his, Manny.

Manny has lived out years of his life in confinement and when Thiago comes for him, he needs to learn so much in order to move forward.

Two souls who were always meant to be, reconnect amongst danger, action and threats but are still able to find their love and happiness.

This was an entertaining story full of grit, action, family and steamy scenes.
I loved getting to see Thiago and Manny come together once again and Manny finally getting to take his rightfull place by Thiagos side.

The narrarion was done remarkably well and the accents which the narrator used added an authenticity to the story which made it more enjoyable to listen to.

Action Packed Mafia Romance

The story is action packed and moving fast through and narrator makes it happen at times I can feel the intensity of the fights and struggles. I really like Manny who has become stronger to be part of Thiago's life that is filled with danger. The narration is full of passion depicting the struggles and difficult choice Manny had to make. Thiago is also a strong and steady character throughout. Overall the story and narration is great. I hope there will be more stories coming for both Thiago and Manny as they further develop their relationship and Manny fit into the role for Thiago.

I absolutely loved this book!

Thiago and Manny are great characters, and though Manny comes off as a bit naive in the beginning of the book, despite growing up as the son of a drug cartel lord, it’s easily explained by his father completely sheltering and overprotecting him, and generally keeping him in the dark and outside the cartel business.
Thiago on the other hand has been raised by his father to take over the reins of the cartel one day and now that the day has come, he is Jefe, the boss.
Thiago has always been in in love with Manny and now that he has rescued him from his father he wants to spoil him and give him everything he can, that does not mean he becomes a big softie, though. On the contrary, he is a very morally-grey character, who needs and wants to be in control any time, and does not hesitate to take out enemies or people who show any disloyalty towards him or the familia.
The story is intriguing, the characters are great and the narration is superb!

Great Story

This young man Manny was confined to his room for four years by his father.He longs for his older best friend.remembering their times together. Thiago carries out a recuse and from there this hard gritty love story begins.I loved this story,how they had to adapt to each other
