Much more enjoyable than the last one

Lol as usual Kylie chen proves she knows what she is doing, she takes all the complaints i had of the last book and develops everyone further along in their journey making for a far more enjoyable ride. Sigh i love long series like this but the trade off is you get entire books dealing with aspects of the characters you don't like very much instead of just a few chapters.
the writing and dialogue continue to improve, though their are a few weird things here and there, mostly doing with Michael and his seemingly out of left field romantic feelings. I say this is a writing issue because the relationships and emotions seem to come out of nowhere. He just shows up with a girlfriend that he is willing to expose to everything even though we the audience and the characters in the book have never heard one peep about until that moment. Then of course you see that she is not the only one he likes, again out of left field with no real build up. Unless you consider a conversation Emma and John had back in the Dark Heaven series. Personally i don't really care who he likes or doesn't like, it just seems like their needs more foreshadowing and buildup that the audience can actually see, rather than just abruptly plopping it in our laps.
Simone is still pretty angsty, but she is starting to show signs of a woman i might actually like someday. We will have to wait and see though. Leo and Emma seem to be getting less suicidal in this book. Well Emma at least no longer seems to want to die. LOL which is weird because for four books she was all in on the get eaten by your lover train, but now she seems less inclined for that and i have no idea why. She says it's for Simone, but Simone was there the whole time and now Emma seems to finally think that matters. On the bright side she has at finally stopped treating every problem she or others have as an acceptable excuse to commit suicide. Leo is still all in for being munched by the turtle , but i'm starting to think he might actually find things in life to live for. We will have to see how it ends. You might guess the whole suicide thing is a bit of a problem for me. I do seem to harp on it a lot in my reviews of these books.

Overall i found i like this book a lot and am once more excited to see the next one.
