As we emerge (though perhaps only temporarily) from the pandemic, other crises move center stage: outrageous inequality, climate disaster, desperate refugees, mounting tensions of a new cold war. The abiding motif of our time is relentless chaos.

Zizek almost never misses

Great book, easy to read and his story and use of pop culture draws the reader in.

Good overview

Zizek is one of my favorite thinkers and this is a good introduction to his political views. The depth of his analysis is impressive, even in these short articles.

Even if you might disagree with Zizek, you have to at least admit that there is a value to reading and understanding his work.

Great book with very interesting political analysis

There are basically two kinds of zizek books: dense philosophical works and more accessible political works. This book is in the latter category. This book offers a pragmatic leftist analysis of the modern global political situation. If you have never read a book by zizek I would not recommend starting with this book but instead would encourage you to start with the sublime object of ideology which is his best work and more accurately showcases his philosophical genius. If you like zizek, you will love this book.
