Crime Fiction At Its ABSOLUTE BEST!!!

As raw, edge-of-your-seat, and nail-biting as the film! Gritty characters (one who was especially foul), frigid storylines- yes there are lots of intersecting plotlines here and they are brilliant! Peter Giles' voice was perfection as Al Pacino's Vincent Hanna! I'll stop now before I give too much away.

Amazing

The story is great I love how it starts off where Heat ended. I couldn’t and didn’t want to pause it at all. Only took me two days to listen to the whole thing. Peter Giles talking as Hanna was wow!!! For a minute I thought it was Pacino. I really hope they make this into a movie. I can see Timothée Chalamet as Hanna, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Neil, and Austin Butler as Chris.

Get the movie / series made, Mann!!

A couple of quick comments. I really dug this for the most part. The back story and the introduction to a new villian are all very welcome. In typical Michael Mann fashion, the attention to detail is here and fleshed out very nicely.

My minor gripes are with Peter Giles. Although he does a great Pacino impression, his regular reading voice just doesn't do it for me. I feel the wrong guy was chosen for the role. I also didn't really care for what Chris got into following Heat. I get the idea, but it just isn't really interesting to me.

There is also another point in the book that's a bit spoiler-ish, so I'll leave it out. Let's just say it was much too convenient for how it all played. Overall, I'm waiting to see this on the big screen or an in depth series.

Great story but read like…

Read like it’s a late 90s movie trailer for a for a thriller. It’s a bit much, but overall still a good listen, great background on characters for fans of the movie

Nothing Less than Excellent!!

I was supremely excited to delve into this book and I was not disappointed! This has to be THE BEST performance ever! Peter Giles was a perfect fit for this story!

The plot was thick and layered, I don't want to give it away but there will be another installment. Brilliant work.

Great story!

The way it ends leaves you wanting more! Hanna and Shirherlis are headed for a battle and I can’t wait to read/listen to it.
