Great Listen

Despite some other reviews, I thought this was pretty good. It kept my attention and some parts were even comical. I enjoyed it.

Not Great But Certainly Good!

This book held my attention from start to finish and for the most part was pretty good. The narrators were all good, but I did like some of them better than others. Most parts were pretty predictable, but still several parts definitely brought out a chuckle and an audible "uh-uhnnn".

Bottom line: I would give this author another try.

I liked how we got both male and female perspectives to show how they both think about a situation and can look at it very differently

It really did the story justice, i liked all the back and forth

A great story line and the narrators really brought it to life. Her debut book was a hit with me.

Where does Heard It All Before rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book does rank fairly high in my library. The implementing of four narrators to assume the role of each character does allow a better comprehension of their mind set, especially the male mindset since it is reflecting their POV.

What other book might you compare Heard It All Before to and why?

A bit more spice and it could hold its own to a Zane manuscript. (just a little)

Funny, playful, sexy!

A wonderful sisterhood of friendships. I love the playful banter between the couples, and the way the author steps out of story mode from time to time to grab your attention, then smoothly bouncing back again to the wonderful storytelling.

Very Intertwined Romance

This was an interesting one. The narrators were ok. The storyline was a bit messy. Multiple parties hopping to friends of your exes? That’s a lot. Dallas, TX got to be bigger than that. It also continued some of the archaic mindsets of a woman having to be the one to always “break” and go back to her man with little to no accountability on the man’s part. One of the main characters went out with another woman while still in a relationship (albeit they were in an extended argument/silent act) and NOTHING was said about it. Yet, it was always his love interest that went back to him bc essentially “he’s a good man Savannah!” SMH. Nevermind that he was just as stubborn and clearly ready to step out on his “love.” Then the other main male character kissed his fiancé’s friend and no accountability for that either. I so wish we can get past this unhealthy skewed narrative. But the males weren’t the only messy characters by far. Some of the women characters were just as grimy.

Outside of that it was well written and almost felt like it was written to become a TV show as they broke the 4th wall often, and it was done smoothly. Transitions in and out of the 4th wall were great.

Poor Performance

The female narrators were monotone and extremely dull. The story was also overly detailed and the dull performance did not help.

Hard to Follow

I don’t usually write reviews however this book was awful from the start. The narrators were hard to listen to with awkward pauses and the story line was predictable and boring. I tried a few times to listen but couldn’t deal past the first few chapters.
