Acerca de esta escucha

Created, not born. Her name is Eve. Myth and legend shroud her in mystery. Now hear her story.

She knew this earth when it was perfect - as she was perfect, a creature without flaw. Created by God in a manner like no other, Eve lived in utter peace as the world's first woman, until she made a choice, one mistake for which all of humanity would suffer. But what did it feel like to be the first person to sin and experience exile; to see innocence crumble so vividly; and to witness a new strange, darker world emerge in its place?

From paradise to exile, from immortality to the death of Adam, experience the epic dawn of mankind through the eyes and heart of Eve - the woman first known as Havah.

Excellent book and informative

A great look at Eve and things could have happened. Makes you take a more kindly and respectful view of Adam and Eve.

World's oldest story told in a new light

Made the emotional conflicts brought by the fall all the more real. Blaming self, blaming each other, loving while hating, desiring while loathing. Knowing your children are suffering because of a choice you made in a moment of time.

Powerful

This book led me to want to know more about creation, about eve, about so many things that were never told in the Bible. Of who the One Is. It bother me before, until I read Havah it left a lot of questions.

Mixed up story, unknown pronunciations

Let me start by saying I loved Iscariot by the same author. This story is just a confusion of a fairly straightforward story.
While I appreciate the addition of the fact that there must have been stress on a marriage where the actions Eve had taken with the tree. That sentence is where the confusion starts.
Over halfway through the book the word "Eve" has yet to be spoken.
Cain is pronounced "ki-yan"
Abel somehow is now "Hev-ill" in pronunciation.
Eve is very needy and both her and "The Adam" as he is mostly called have difficulty showing love and acceptance to their children. Indeed, they mostly show outward indifference and even violence to the children while claiming inward love.
Yet they both have directly known the love and anger of Heavenly Father should have only passed on that toward the children even if they have blame towards each other.

Couldn't make it halfway through.

I was excited to find this title after enjoying Iscariot by the same author. But this is just terrible.
In Scripture, God told Eve that "her desire will be for her husband, and he shall rule over you".
But over 4 hours into the story, and I can no longer listen to the character's self-righteousness and constant bi**hing.
The entire first half of this book is just a 21st century woman going off on a man-hating rant. If I wanted to listen to hateful heifers, I'd watch The View or Judge Judy.
deleting the title now. First book I could not finish.

Unbearably depressing

I listened to this book on audible while doing yardwork. It was very difficult to keep track of all the names and relationships without a genealogy chart. This book was so wrenchingly sad! I wondered why (spoiler alert!) Eve didn’t commit suicide the moment she and Adam woke to to find their animal friends flayed (by God???!!!) for their skins. I kept hoping it would get better, but it was just a long trail of heartache, sorrow and regret. I need to read (listen to) the Mark Twain version to lift myself out of this despair.
