Scary and suspenseful - pure entertainment

I got this book to listen on my long drives to work. There were times I was screaming and covering my mouth as I listened, maybe because I scare easily! But definitely worth it

Wait for it...

This was incredibly slow to start out and then there’s a bang of excitement and the book is over. It’s worth the read or listen. I loved the narrators voice.

Enjoyed it, but would make a great movie!

This was my Halloween book to listen to this year. I did not realize when I purchased this, that it was a kinda of continuation in a series. It is not a direct continuation, but the cast is made up of the survivors of three other books. I have not read the other books, so I did not know the characters. That said, I think the author did well in introducing sufficient details about each group in order to keep me from feeling completely lost.

This was a very enjoyable read. Good mixture of suspense and horror. I like the cast enough that I will likely go back and read the other three books just to see what traumatic experiences they survived to get here.

Interesting storyline

This story was a fun book to listen to. It was a bit predictable but was still very entertaining.

A bit gory, but not as bad as some reviewers said. Definitely had me wondering what was going to happen next, and enjoyed the twist toward the end.

What a Fun Ride

Would you consider the audio edition of Haunted House to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version. I do the majority of my books via audio books due to lack of time to read the print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Moni. Really enjoyed the character, and where she goes in the story. Really rooted for her.

What does Rob Shapiro bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He really brought everything to life for me. I wondered several times while reading this if I would have liked it as much if I had just read the print version. I will definitely seek out other books he has narrated.

If you could take any character from Haunted House out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I knew nothing about this book going in. I was hurrying through Audible and this popped up as a recommendation. I did a quick scan of the summary, downloaded it and started to listen that night. I was hooked right off the bat. I had no idea until I was going to do this review that these characters are from other books, so this definitely is a stand alone book. Very happy with the purchase of this audio book, and will be seeking out other material from this author.

Loved it

Great story with gruesome action and flawed characters. What more can I ask for? Becoming a bigger and bigger fan of Konrath w/ea book I get!
