Acerca de esta escucha

Senior Chief "Harvard" Becker believes that there is no room for women in a combat zone. It's too dangerous, too tough, and with P. J. involved, too distracting. He might respect her sharp intellect and her shooting abilities, but he still doesn't want the responsibility of making sure she stays alive.

But P. J. isn't a woman who backs down easily, and to her mind, Harvard has a lot to learn. She just doesn't expect him to be so eager to instruct her on other subjects, like trust, desire - and maybe even love.

It was a great book...

The characters are great. the background stories are wonderful... I find myself listening to these again and again

Best in the story arc so far

Again, I have to say that this Harlequin series is the precursor to Brockmann’s Troubleshooter series in story arcs and character development, but without the level of grittiness. BUT this one has the most Grit so far. The Seals train the Fincom agents in antiterrorism and, yes, their training exercise turns into more than they expected.
Whether Zackman or Guest is the narrator, they do a decent enough job, but their strength lies in female voices, not male.

Much better story, still lacking solid narrator

I read this a few years ago, but when the series showed up in Audible Escape I decided to give the audiobook a try. It's so hard to rate these older Suzanne Brockmann works. Compared to the level of writing in her Troubleshooters series as well as the production/narration quality of those audiobooks, it leaves many of these Tall Dark & Dangerous books feeling a slightly bereft. This book is one of my favorites and clocks in at 4 stars for the story, but narration leaves a lot to be desired.

Brockmann does what she does best here and gives us a strong female lead in PJ (probably only surpassed by Alyssa Locke in her Troubleshooters series). Harvard Becker learns he isn’t as enlightened as he thought he was ~ but he *does* learn. There’s also considerably more action in this book than in the previous few which is excellent.

I’m not sure what the deal is as the narrator is listed at Maia Guest, but introduced in the audio as Gabra Zackman. It sounds like the same narrator from the last book. I *almost* didn’t listen because this is the same narrator as Everyday Average Jones, which was terrible. It’s still not great, but markedly better and tolerable. She still doesn’t have a distinct voice for male characters and tends to drop accents/voices mid-sentence/conversation. Makes it difficulty to tell sometimes who is actually speaking. Again, I wouldn’t buy this production, but as a part of the Audible Escape package I was satisfied.

I will go back to reading this story in the future.

I enjoy All Suzanne Brockmann's Books

I enjoy all of Suzanne Brockmann's books but what confused me on this one was the lead in announcer saying this book was read by Gabra Zackman, so I was all geared for her and on come Maia Guest. My hope is that by writing this review Maia Guest will get the credit she deserves.
I really appreciate how Suzanne spends the time developing her characters and integrates them into other stories. It makes you feel more close and involved in the story. She is never afraid to write about a political, emotional or social subject. She also doesn't present the subject in a way that turns the reader off. I really enjoy her writing.

The Dark Chocolate in 'Tall Dark and Dangerous'.

This book seems to move along more, and not as much as the inner debate going on that was a little dragging in the first 4 in this series. Suzanne Brockmann is getting better at writing the more writing she does, and as I love the Troubleshooter series this makes me happy. I will continue on with the series to find out how the other Alpha 10 men get along finding their women. On the audiobook introduction the narrator is Gabra Zachman so Audible is wrong with it saying it is Maia Guest who narrates.

Harvard's PHD on a woman

This novel is a thesis on equality of races and the sexes. It's also filled with suspense, danger and courage.

Cute little getaway

Brockmann’s Seal Team Ten series is a nice relaxing read. I didn’t love the narrator but the story was enough to keep me listening.

read the book

the story was GOOD and I wished I had read the book because I couldn't hear the difference between the men and women. Maia Guest has a nice voice but all female. These tough navy seals sounded like they were taking mega doses of estergen!!!

Light & Fluffy

Enjoyed the light, fluffy and predictable love story. Nice installment for the Navy Seals installment.

Another great book in this series!

I really like how each Navy Seal in this series has such a different background and you may know them from prior books, but really do not know much about them until you get to the book that focuses on them. Yes, I know that is typical in a series such as this, but there have been some pleasant surprises with each new book. Each Navy Seal is deep in their own way and the author examines their vulnerable side while still displaying their macho tough guy side which is exciting.

I really like this narrator - she adds a certain touch to each character. All the narrators have been good, but this one is my favorite.
