Acerca de esta escucha

Treasure Cove is a crazy place to grow up. Especially for an 11-year-old girl like me. You see, my father is a police detective. And my mother is an amateur sleuth. It's safe to say that I've had a wild upbringing. And things are about to get even weirder. You won't believe what happens next.

I really enjoyed seeing a behind the scenes view from Jessica during one of the murders. It helps put you in the right mind frame when Sabrina sends her to the cabin to be safe while she and David are solving a murder.

This is the story of Jess, and how she realizes how hard her parents work and how scary chasing down criminals can be. She's sent away with her grandparents during a particularly scary investigation her parents are on and by snooping (big surprise) she learns how worrisome it is for the adults. She grows up a little once she realizes investigations involve scary stuff and aren't just no big deal.
The narrator is still not my favorite...
Overall I really enjoyed this book!

I liked the addition of an 11 year old girl as a character. But, there was absolutely no mystery to the story. The narrator does a fair job with female characters. But, the voices for male characters is horrible.

Growing up in Treasure Cove, my forty-seventh short read from author Meredith Potts, A cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy mystery told from the viewpoint of 11-year Jessica Carlson, the daughter of Sabrina & David Carlson of all the Treasure Cove books. I was been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. As in so many of her audiobooks, Stephanie Quinn’s talented narration adds to the book's enjoyment. Looks to be an enjoyable new series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This is a cute story about a young girl growing up in Treasure Cove with a police officer father and private detective mother. She thinks she is a sleuth. But the story mostly just tells us about her being shuffled off to her grandparents when her parents are in the middle of a case. They have ice cream whenever things need lightening up. I don't remember her name.
I thought the narrator did a good job.

Eleven year old girls shouldn't be obsessed with mysteries. But--being the daughter of a police detective and an amateur detective mother,Jessica has the sleuthing bug in her blood. But combined with that is the usual life of a young girl interested in school and one particular boy who didn;t know she existed at least romantically. On this particular day at school she's collected by the principle from the recess yard and taken back to his office. There her mother is waiting for her with a backpack and plans to send her with her grandparents to the lake. Jessica knows something is up and wants to know what but is blocked with her mother's words of she doesn't have to worry about it. Jessica soon learns a few lessons about being an adult.
Stephanie Quinn is a fantastic narrator who brings this little family to life with warmth.
Fantastic story and audio.

I love the clean, cozy mysteries that Meredith Potts write. The storyline is well developed with believable and interesting characters. You have Jessica Carlson, the 11 yeat old daughter of Sabrina and David Carlson. You have an ongoing investigation so her grandparents take her to the lake for her safety. She eavesdrop and now is worried about her parents. You have to read to get the rest of the story. This book is great for Adults and they can read them to the family. Or Jr High school students would love these. I recommend this story.

Growing Up in Treasure Cove is a cute premise, but is missing the details of the actual mystery. This short story is based on the thoughts and feelings of the detectives’ 11 y/o daughter. Maybe if it had view point of the parents in addition to the child it would be more interesting. The narrator gives a wonderful performance of the child and perhaps needs to not try to make the male voice so deep for it to be more believable.

Having listened to all the books from Sabrina's point of view, from the time she met and fell in love with David until their retirement, this is a refreshing look from their 11 year old daughter's view. Jessica is a strong minded girl, and understands the danger her parents are in each time a murder is committed. And each time she is whisked away to their cabin with her grandparents. Do they not think she knows the possible outcomes? And she wants to be home because she loves the idea of being a detective! This is a fun perspective to hear, and lets us in on the mind of Jess early on. Stephanie Quinn continues her narration of the story, and keeps the story flowing.
