stunning slow burn literary horror
ugh this is one of my favorite books of the year! a gothic, unsettling, and queer story of a teacher in 1901 who spirals into madness from hearing and seeing things in the woods. the narrator was absolute perfection.

Wonderfully told
The narration is one of the best I’ve heard. The story starts as a slow burn that pays off in the last third.
