And you'll study statecraft, specifically the contemporary notions of freedom, self-government, virtuous leadership, and civic life that have their origins in the Athens of Pericles, Plato, and Aristotle.

The series with Daniel Robinson are lecture series. There is course material. This college level thinking and one has to be prepared to seek out source material( the works of Plato, Aristotle etc) remember this. Trust me when I tell you the man is a genius. Prepare yourself and you will find his voice, his words, his teachings as enriching as I have.

Great information but reeks of academic arrogance

I really enjoyed this speaker when he wasn’t interjecting his vegetarian view point or belittling religion and spirituality. I suppose he believes the Greeks would have held the same contempts. Either way, the information is concise and the Greek picture is painted with reverence and love. Ultimately, I appreciate the passion from which the speaker speaks.

professor Robinson is one of my favorite audio book authors. He's witty, humorous and eloquent.

This was a marvel. Professor Robinson made connections and allusions that were so enlightening I found myself rewinding to listen to passages and phrases again and again. The wisdom of the material and Robinson abounds.

I really loved and enjoyed the last lecture as the professor concluded very nicely ....

It's okay

Not at all what I was hoping for, but it was neither good nor bad, just okay. I liked that it covered insights that the Greeks uncovered such as morals, values, character, beauty, and living the good life, happiness. It didn't really cover the people which, likely because it is such a short course.
