Acerca de esta escucha
Grand Teton National Park owes its spectacular scenery to earthquakes. Born of earthquakes and sculpted by ice, it's an active and dynamic landscape. It boasts the youngest and steepest mountain range in the Rockies, contains some of the oldest rocks on earth, features glaciers, glacier-carved lakes, sagebrush flats, abundant and visible wildlife and a myriad of wildflowers.
This park approved audio tour is designed to be listened to while driving the inner and outer loops of Teton Park Road. The first half of the tour is "guided" and is synchronized with Teton Park Road, beginning at the Moose Visitor Center in the south and continuing north to Colter Bay. The second half is unstructured (unguided), ideal for completing the outer loop road (Hwy. 26/89/191) back to Moose or continuing north to Yellowstone. You'll enjoy unobstructed views of the Teton Range while listening to an impressive group of local experts. Geologists will explain the exciting geological processes that created the park's magnificent mountains, lakes and meadows. You'll be driving through open grasslands and will skirt dense forests, glacial lakes and marshy ponds -- putting you in close proximity to a variety of birds and animals. Therefore wildlife biologists and naturalists will tell you fascinating stories about their observations and experiences with the park's elk, moose, bear, bison and coyotes. You'll also hear from a park historian, who'll paint a clear picture of the areas' rich cultural history and bring to life the colorful characters who influenced the development of Grand Teton National Park.
Professionally narrated and filled with wonderful music and nature sounds, this 70-minute audio tour is as entertaining as it is educational.
This tour also includes an introduction to Yellowstone National Park. But if you'd like a complete understanding of both parks, get Travel Audios' tour of Yellowstone as well!

Yellowstone is a land of extreme diversity. Nowhere else will you find wolves, bison, and grizzlies living among the largest concentration of hot springs and geysers in the world. The park’s 2.2 million acres is an incongruous landscape of bubbling hot, lunar-like geothermal features, lush green rolling meadowlands, snow covered mountain peaks, colorful canyons, waterfalls, lakes and untamed rivers. It is a park so large, so complex and so fascinating it seems fitting that it owns the title as our world’s first national park! Travel Audios’ park approved audio tour will help you understand what you are seeing and smelling! It is not a mile-by-mile guide; it can be listened to anywhere. It features an impressive group of knowledgeable Park Ranger geologists, biologists and naturalists who explain the geological processes that created the landscape and why this area in Wyoming is such a geothermal hot spot. They’ll tell you about their studies and observations of the park’s wildlife and their experience with massive forest fires.

Empire of Shadows is the epic story of the conquest of Yellowstone, a landscape uninhabited, inaccessible, and shrouded in myth in the aftermath of the Civil War. In a radical reinterpretation of the 19th century West, George Black casts Yellowstone's creation as the culmination of three interwoven strands of history.

just okay
the content was good but the sound quality made it difficult to hear. the background music was louder than the person speaking and was very distracting and hard to focus.

Sickening and Preachy
Some good information is presented, but the narrator sounds like she is addressing a class at nursery school. Her insipid cadence is so annoying and insulting that my family demanded we turn it off after only about ten minutes. (I listened to the rest via headphones so as not to bother them). The first half is a follow-the-route tour, while the second half is devoted to general information. This should be reversed. Most buyers (those who want to force themselves to get through the juvenile voicing) will want to hear the general information. Few are going to want to listen to the route tour, because few are going to be driving that particular direction (south to north). The good parts are the snippets of dialog spoken by the geologists and the naturalists. But if you detest audio directed at very young children, you can probably skip this purchase, and just pick up that information in books. At the end of the presentation, the kindergarten-teacher type narrator lays on the political invective. The writers probably THINK they are giving both sides of the story. After all, they have told us all the good things about keeping the planet as natural as possible. And now they tell us the bad things about letting humans do with property as they wish. Case made. Slam dunk! They end by asking "which side are you on?" With zero discussion of liberty or what creates the prosperity which Americans expect, naturally the writers expect their infantilized audience to eat up their argument without asking a single question. I would recommended not purchasing this audio unless you happen to have a family full of very small children and you are prepared to offer some counterpoint to the preachy part at the end.

Well presented, informative, and entertaining!
We enjoyed listening to this overview of the park so we could be more aware of what caused the landscape formation and how that effects what species of plants and animals that inhabit the park. The interdisciplinary format of the presentation enhanced our understanding and appreciation of the area.
