We have a problem that has exponentially increased to epidemic proportions. Gossip is not something, which is simply unique to a select few. Gossiping does not begin and end with the proverbial stay-at-home mom who has too much time on her hand. Quite the contrary, it extends its evil reach into the pulpit, the boardroom, the bedroom and the kitchen table. This spirit operates on a daily basis in the lives of prayer warriors and pastors alike. No one is exempt. If you took inventory of your life right now and were posed this question, “Have you ever talked about someone behind his or her back?” there is a 99.99 % probability that your answer will be a resounding yes. Unfortunately, it’s very rare to come across a person who has not gossiped or been the target of gossip. The aftermath of gossip is extremely severe. Its demolition of people’s lives is of epic proportions. Gossip leaves a wide trail as it ploughs down its victims like a bulldozer. Its destructive aftermath is so severe that it can have generational ramifications. Nothing in history, other than perhaps religion, can be attributed to causing such massive damage to people’s lives, a family name, relationships, and society at-large.
