This Book IS Golden!!!!

Golden by Shannon Mayer is the 1st in a new world/series for This incredible author. I'm a big fan of Shannon Mayer's writing and this book was just another example of her amazing talent!

I admit that I was really curious as to how I'd like this odd telling. I mean a Werewolf turning into a Golden Retriever??!! That's a totally new direction if anything I'd read before....but, never fear! Shannon Mayer is here, and she will make those quirks work out brilliantly!!!! In no time I was totally engrossed and couldn't wait to see what happened next! This puppy (no offense to our Golden) had a lot of twists and turns, who's good, who's bad,what next?!! It's just a fantastic read and Any Landon was magnificent as the narrator. There were a lot of characters, very unusual characters that she had to differentiate voices, etc. for and she did such a great job! Loved everything about this book!! 22 Golden Stars! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This new series is definitely going to be on my number one list. It kept me captivated from the start. I love Cin and her new sidekick. Amy Landon does a fantastic job bringing the characters alive. I highly recommend this audible book.

Right from the start, it grabbed me.

It’s not often that a story grabs me from the start. This one did it with the very first sentence! What a wild ride, with characters I loved, and characters I truly despised. It ended leaving me wanting MORE.

now I wait for 2 of her series next books. this series and the midlife bounty hunter book 8. I cant wait, awesome job, and both readers are great too.

Fun & totally unexpected!

I really wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book or not, but I loved it! Can’t wait for the audiobook so I’ve already downloaded book two!

Such a different book!

So this book was so different from what I usually read. In fact, I don’t think I have ever read a shifter romance let alone one that involves a Golden Retriever. There were so many strange moments in this book but it was super fast paced and I really do have to know what happens next!

The side characters were amazing. They provided such a comic relief. I honestly think this book would make for good TV 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was not sure what to expect going in to this book and it’s unlike anything I’ve read before.

The plot of the story did take a little bit for me to get into, but I enjoyed the different retelling of The Little Mermaid concept. I’m excited to see what book 2 has in store.

An amazing start to a new series!!!!

I've always said that "dysfunctional family" is redundant. Every family is messed up in some way, so just say "family", we get that somewhere there's weirdness happening. But, Shannon Mayer has taken it to the truly "dysfunctional" in this interesting, entertaining and enthralling new story. The characters are so real, you want to be friends with some of them, and you want to just smack some others. As a listener, you get so involved in the emotional outcome to this story. This is such a great adventure, there's excitement, a hunky love interest, twists and surprises that keep the listener guessing, snark a plenty, all with fabulous and loveable sidekicks. The narrator does a great job of distinguishing between charachters, that you always know who is speaking. I'm really looking forward to the next book, can't wait!

I think that this was my surprise read of the week. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but whatever it was, this blew my expectations away. While this is not a book of deep thought that provokes strong intellectual discussions, it WAS a fun and compelling book that made me laugh many times along the way.

We get to meet Cin, a werewolf who might just have the most awful family in the werewolf world - and that might just be an understatement. Without going into spoilers, let's just say that the results of the curse that is forced upon her are kinda funny. I know, I know, it shouldn't be funny, but it is. It really is.

The show stealer though, is Skittles, or the cat who is also known as Bebe. She definitely wins the award of best secondary character...hands down. Between the two of them, their antics are what makes this story so fun.

I listened to this on audio and Amy Landon did a great job (I especially liked the way she portrayed Bebe). Again, this book is not going to go down in the annuals of history, but it is DEFINITELY worth the time investment of a couple of hours of entertainment.

Talk about leaving on a cliffhanger.....man oh man....

I can't wait to see where book 2 goes with this storyline.
