In this poetry collection H. C. Kim captures a fragment of the human experience of the past year. Americans in particular may identify with the poems capturing the hurt and reaction to the September 11th tragedy. Politically reflective poems encourage thinking and discussion about complex issues surrounding the event and the response.
There are other poems that suit the tastes of those who love to travel. These poems reflect on visits to various Europeans cities and bring out what is special about these cities in a personal way. For those who adore love poems: Some of the poems in this volume focus on the concept of distant love. As the global community becomes smaller and smaller due to travel and the internet, more and more people are falling in love with people who are far away. It is for their benefit that the poet has written these poems. Some might want to share these poems with the ones they love.
