Moving, funny, insightful, enlightening

This book introduced me to a beautiful culture and a person with deep insight into America. Ali shared his story of living through events of calamity and poor health with faith and surprising optimism.

Awesome book! Funny author

As a brown person living in America, this book hit so many sore spots for me with humor. Despite being born in America, your skin tone can still mark you as "other" and you will feel like you don't belong in your own country. This book helped explain that feeling and show the way even people who mean well, can still get it wrong. I am not Muslim, but this book also helped me understand what so many Muslims in America have been feeling for so long. This book is funny and much needed right now. Highly recommend!
