Gerry Christmas ist die Geschichte eines Marienkäfers, der am Nordpol lebt und dessen Familie ursprünglich aus dem fernen Ägypten stammt. Seit vielen Jahren schon ist er Lehrer an der Schule im beschaulichen Weihnachtsstadt, wo auch der Weihnachtsmann seine Wunschmanufaktur hat. Einfühlsam weckt er die Neugier und Kreativität der kleinen Wichtel und Elfen, und weiteren Freunden am Lernen.
Aber was verschlägt einen Marienkäfer so hoch nach oben in den Norden? Sind Eis und Schnee wirklich der richtige Lebensraum für ihn? Ja! Denn es ist sein Zuhause. Gerry Christmas ist am Nordpol geboren.
Die Geschichte erzählt von seinen Eltern und Großvater Ibrahim, die Afrika einst verlassen mussten und am Nordpol eine neue Heimat fanden. Und: von seiner Freundschaft zu Fridtjof, dem groß gewachsenen Weihnachtself, sowie Elin, dem wissbegierigen Nordlicht. Außerdem gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit dem Mädchen Gänseblümchen und ihren Freunden.
Ein im Kern thematisch stets aktuelles, tiefgreifendes Hörbuch für zuhörende Kinder, junge Leser und auch für Erwachsene.
