Gripping Story and Theatrical Narration

The story had me in a BIND. The story was woven together with enough clear details and mysterious events that it really gave the whole “puzzle pieces are coming together” feel. The narrator also did a superb job and gave it a kind of graphic audio feel. Voices were unique, she used different tempos and volumes to really suck you into the scene. Overall, a fantastic listen :)

Main Character Energy

This one has a lot of solid element: Parental abandonment, POC main character, Don't Ask, Don't Tell mentality, interesting side characters and well described scenes/events. I, personally, love a main character who, by all accounts, does *not* want to be wherever they are. Pauses between chapters are kind of long, so if you have headphones in, don't panic, it hasn't cut out or off. 9/10

Old House and overall spooky vibe. A great read as usual from the talented Ms. Coates.

Impressively deep, layered, and suspenseful. Carries a conmin theme throughout all of Darcy's books. You will become a fan.

Good Story

story kept me interested. However the narrator continues to make the main character sound like she is whining every time she is thinking. makes the main character sound weak and wat to reactive.

Great characters and atmosphere

Perfect creepy vibes. The characters were great and really enjoyed which is hard to find in a lot of books for me. The narrator was amazing! Definitely recommend it!!

Creepy and will draw you in!

I love the narrator, the characters, and the ending! It’s was a great listen! I would recommend to anyone who likes spooky mysteries!

I've read a few of Darcy Coates books and this one did not disappoint.
