College Hockey Romance/Second Chance

I love a college hockey romance and this story was no exception, I adored it. Eve and Hunter were perfect for each other. C.W. is a new to me author but I was completely hooked from the audiobook sample. I needed to know what happened next!

Eve is newly single...her ex-Ben was the target of my anger for a good chunk of the book.

Hunter is trying to figure out his next steps after graduation and while he navigates these big decisions finds out the "one who got away" is newly single...and happens to be his best friends girlfriends best friend. Hello forced proximity, I love you.

C.W. created such raw and relatable characters with Eve and Hunter, they were both going through personal life struggles and navigating family dynamics. They were able to lean on each other in a way they hadn't before with others. It was so beautiful.

Rose Dioro and Christian Fox were outstanding. Performed in dual narration, Rose brought the quirky and somewhat reserved elements of Eve's personality and allowed the character to grow throughout each chapter, changing her tone to emphasize the transition. Christian was able to convey the serious tone of Hunter and slowly reveal his fun and easy going side. You should really listen to this book!

Beautifully Paced

Timing is everything!

Eve & Hunter originally met the first week of freshman year. There was a spark, but the timing wasn't right. Fast forward senior year, Eve recently broke up with her bf. Eve & Hunter end up on a spring break trip with their mutual friends. The spark reignites and timing is on their side this time.

Cute, feel-good and steamy

I absolutely loved this audiobook!
What a cute story, I was captivated from the beginning.
Eve & Hunter's story is a cute and delicious slow burn that burns hot when they finally admit their feelings.
This is a cute, feel-good, and at the same time steamy audiobook.
The plot, the characters, and the spice were well-balanced.
I loved the narrators, they were amazing! Brought Eve & Hunter to life effortlessly, It was a show apart.

As college graduation looms closer Eve thought she had everything planned out, graduate, move to NYC with her boyfriend while he went to film school and she worked on painting and trying to make it as an artist. What she didn’t plan for was the break up and then becoming a “fifth wheel” for spring break on a trip to California with her roommate and best fiend, her boyfriend and one other couple. Hunter just ended his hockey career on a high helping his team win a college national championship and spring break is the welcome distraction he needs to help make the decision of where he is going for grad school. While he had come to terms with being the “fifth wheel” for this trip, he didn’t expect to have Eve come along. Eve the one girl he meet freshman year and couldn’t stop thinking about, but the timing was never right. Is now the right time so close to graduation, with her moving to NYC and him trying to figure out his plans?

I enjoyed this book. Eve and Hunter were so relatable and the problems that they had were so truthful. The nervousness that Eve had around Hunter was super cute. I loved the found family that both Eve and Hunter found with their best friends. This was not just a college romance, the depth and emotion that the characters went through in their family lives was heavy and done well.

This is book three in the Holt Hockey series but can be read as a standalone. While I have not read many books where the MCs are in college I did really enjoy it, I will be reading the other books in the series. They are on my summer TBR.

I listened to this book on @audible. Narrated by Christian Fox and Rose Dioro. I love a dual narration and this one did not disappoint. Christian and Rose did a great job.

great series wrap-up

This was a fun return to Holt hockey. This group of teammates and friends is really fun. I loved how they took one last epic trip together before graduation and I loved how Eve and Hunter got thrown together.

If you love road trips, only one bed, and a slow burn then this is the book for you. This one wasn't as heavy on hockey since the season had ended, but it is obviously still mentioned a lot.

I really love the found family in this series. I also liked that both characters had some family drama they were dealing with. It made it seem more realistic.

Fifth wheeling done right

A slow burn romance that sizzles like Embers glowing in the dark. Scintillating connection between Holton Morgan & Eve Driscoll highlights the micro rope of The One That Got Away on both sides. She got away with Ben, he with his hockey. But the times apart were a gauntlet they both walk though to find their happily ever after.
The story truely is pining/yearning to the max (3/4 of the book)
It seems they keep orbiting in periphery and their paths cross with time but when they do, their lust keeps them cemented to each other.
I enjoyed it and will definitely go back to read the first two of Aiden and Colton

Great Listen

Eve and Hunter

The narrators did a good job and I enjoyed listening to them.

I found this to be cute, funny and entertaining. There was one part that was a tad emotional. Eve and Hunter first met Freshman year of college at a mixer a family situation pulled Hunter away and next thing he knows she's no where to be found. Weeks later he finds out she started dating someone. Years later Eve is single again and Hunter gets a second chance. Not only did I like these two characters but I also liked the side characters. This can be read as a standalone but the characters from the previous two books are mentioned in this story. For some reason I really liked listening to Connor the voice and his whining I found amusing.
