Straight to the point, and no empty promises!

Ian's book, while seemingly short, contains information from his years of experience with his online businesses. He sets realistic expectations, sets reasonable effort to be expected from the reader, and walks the reader through creating an online business. For those who want to start an online business with minimum capital, this is a must buy!

Incredible step by step guide!

This is a fabulous book, full of real, detailed information on how to execute your dreams. Where is the follow up book?! I wanted to jump right into the next.

This is the first book I have come across for internet based business that outline the actual tasks and activities with a realistic timeline to get your business up and running. Highly recommend. It’s an easy listen.

Perfect Real Talk Guide for Internet Business Beginners

This book covers all of the absolutely essential steps you need to take to build a business online. No get rich quick nonsense here, it’s all about realistic expectations and doing the work. This will also help answer many of the questions you’ll have when first learning about how to set up your website. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get started in the internet marketing business world.

A down to earth introduction to digital marketing

I'll start this review by saying I've been following Ian's work for a long time now. Ian's online courses were what got me in to digital marketing. Let me say, Ian is 110% committed to exposing and combating fraud on the internet.

The internet is sort of like the wild west, where every sleazy marketer is trying to sell you snake oil at every turn. From Nothing is a refreshing break from the constant barrage of disinformation being fed to you by bad marketers who are better at selling their course than actually teaching it.

This book is an incredible introduction to the world of digital marketing, and will provide you with the tools, information, and expectations that you need to succeed in this industry. The information in this book is what shaped my journey to success as a digital marketer, and I still reference it all the time.

If you're serious about creating a successful content-based business, this book is the only thing you need to go from $0 to at least $1000/mo given you actually put in the work.

Amazing for starting an online business

This book is simple to follow and simplifies the whole process. All the essentials are there and there is no upsell. It's designed for beginners with a smaller budget in mind. The first couple of chapters talk about a business mindset and how to choose your niche. It's is something that I think is lacking with other "gurus". Just positive thinking will not cut it running a business, online or otherwise. There are no get rich fast scheme, it is hard work all the way through, no matter the niche. I wouldn't recommend skipping through the "softer skills" part of the book, and the actual setup starts with the chapter 4.
The author explains the logic behind choosing a domain name, hosting and then step by step setup of Wordpress. At this point, I do think the addition of visuals are really beneficial (the book comes with a pdf and there is also a printed version of the book). I followed the process to the T, and I had my webpage set up in 1 afternoon and I have never done anything like that before. You do not need to know code or anything too technical and the instructions are really easy to follow. By the end of chapter 4 all the technical things are set up, including Google analytics and protection of your webpage.

Next couple of chapters will teach keyword research, in simple and effective terms, more than enough to get you going. There are also plenty of tips on what is high-quality content and how to start promoting your new blog.

I own a physical copy of the book as well, and at first, I wasn't too sure about the voice of the narrator (it is not the author). The thing is, though, the knowledge in the book is legit. I had some fails is business before and I was very comprehensive about taking it all online. I thought it is all too complicated and I wouldn't be able to maintain it all, even though I am reasonably tech-savvy. Ian's book made is all comprehensible and even easy. It's synthesized enough that I knew what I was doing from the beginning. I helped me shorten the whole process of starting an online business, from choosing a niche and setting everything up.

Excellent Information without all the fluff

This book offers great detailed information with step by step guides (including pictures) from start to finish. Very straight forward and honest about the possibilites of when you might start to see income. There is no fluff. I purchased the audio book so i can listen while driving, cooking and doing house chores. I have the paperback copy as well so that I can go back to the step by step guides when needed. Buy the book! You won't be sorry!

This actually works! I cant believe it!!

For 12 years, I had very limited success with online marketing. I had spent $15,000 in training and made less than $1,000 in return — that’s for everything I tried in over a decade.
I kept chasing this and that shiny object, hoping something would work. The courses I went through gave ‘good’ information, but it was always a small piece of the puzzle. Maybe 30-50%. It never took it from start to finish.
The ‘next level’ training was always another product — an upsell. Yet even with all their training, you were left in the lurch. You never knew how to put it all together to make money at it.
I met Ian at a conference and he told me about his training and book. At first, I didn’t believe him. Why would someone give so much good information for so cheap? What’s the catch?
I decided to trust one more time, and I’m glad I did. Ian’s training in this book provides such a clear path. You just have to do what he says and it works. Ian’s book really was that lightbulb that made me realize how all the pieces worked together. It became my foolproof manual for success!
