Best guide to networking I have read

It does not matter how many times you refine your “elevator speech” if you don’t first read this book to understand at a process level how to truly approach networking as a way of life and with a purpose.

Chapter by chapter I found nuggets of wisdom that enhanced my thinking about how I approach networking in a practical way that I can make my own. It is not about technique and steps as much as it is about understanding at a process and personal level.

I think this is one of the best networking books I have read to date and will be quoting from it with my team and adding it to my must reads for new employees.

Not your average networking book

This book goes way beyond networking 101. Yes, it covers the basics, but what really stood out to me were the deeper concepts—like presence, involvement, and courage—that challenged me to think differently. I loved the reminder that first impressions happen in every interaction, even via email or a phone call. The chapter on visualizing the kind of people you want to attract? Game-changing.

One of my favorite stories was the “carrot, egg, or coffee bean” analogy—powerful and thought-provoking. I also appreciated the honest look at who drains your energy versus who fills your cup. And the final takeaway? Find the lesson in both wins and losses.

This book isn’t just theory—it’s filled with practical tools and mindset shifts to become a more effective, respected, and intentional networker. Highly recommend.

Mandatory read for those with life aspirations

The most expensive thing in the world is TRUST. It can take years to earn and a matter of seconds to lose. Those that learn how to build trust will conquer any task or achieve anything they desire because they will have the support of others.
Frank's book highlights that If you want to do anything significant in life you are going to do it with others. He also provides you a roadmap on how.

Fills the Networking Toolbox

There are a ton of networking books and guides out there. But in all my years of networking, business development, and sales I have never found something fills the toolbox in ways that no one else has before. I learned a lot from this book - helping approach things different. While there is 'nothing new' in the world of networking and sales...this is a great book to help you focus on what the book promises - creating a lifetime of extraordinary success.

If you are new to networking, and want to grow your networth through your network - get this book and take lots of notes.

If you are NOT new to networking...same suggestion - get this book and take lots of notes. I promise it will remind you things you used to do, but lost sight of as you became more transactional and process driven (yes - you...I see you at those networking meetings), and less about relationships and true networking.
