Are we to "forgive, forget, and move on?" Then why does that feel so wrong?

Scripture tells us, “Be kind and tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you in Christ.”
That means that God has established the method and the protocols for forgiveness and that we are to know and follow those. So, how has God forgiven us in Christ? What is it we are to emulate?

In this booklet, we see that God’s approach to forgiveness and what He expects of us as we learn to extend forgiveness to others is not the “forgive, forget, and move on” theology many of us have been taught.

Here you will find the biblical “rules of engagement” for forgiveness-giving and forgiveness-seeking and, hopefully, recognize that restoration of relationships is not automatic when forgiveness happens.
