Perfection!

Dan Calley takes Garrett Leigh's characters and breathes life into them. Reading the book was an epic experience, but listening to it is even better. I'm binging the series on audio, and am absolutely satisfied with my purchases. Can't wait to listen to Rubi and River!

Good plot getting more complicated as the series goes on

Although the plot was good, I just didn’t feel the chemistry between Mateo and Embry like I felt it with Cam, Alexei, and Saint. But, I got to hear enough of Alexei that it almost made up for it. I’d be very happy if future books in this series got back to the three of them.

That little thing called a book just obliterated my heart. I thought my soul shattered for Cam, Saint and Lexi- but now you tell me Mateo and Embry are heart shredding too?!?

I freaking love this book. I love the Spanish touches and the romantic feels. I like that neither Em or Mats questioned that is was one another- rather that they didn’t feel like they deserved it.

I just know that River and Ruby are going to obliterate me.

Love the continuation of characters

This is book 3 in the series and should be read in order to really fall for the Rebel Kings MC.

I love this series

I read the book when it was released in November 2022 and fell in love. Dan Calley is the perfect performer for this series. Here is my original review.

This just might be my favorite series by this author…although Misfits is probably my favorite book. I will be re-reading the first three books before the next one comes out for sure. I am ever hopeful these will be released on audio. This book picks up where book two leaves off so it shouldn’t be read as a standalone, plus there are too many characters to meet for the first time here.

Even when you know what’s coming and can see it from a mile away, you can’t help but feel the INTENSE pain these characters feel. The emotions become physical. The physical becomes emotional. I was vibrating during the big reveal, and it hurt.

These two danced around each other through the first two books and it’s obvious how they feel for each other. When they are together, their love and sexual chemistry melt the page. When they are apart, they yearn for each other, and it is tangible. Mateo has a big secret…the prologue hints at it so it’s not a surprise when it’s revealed but it’s a doozy. Embry surprised me. He’s more of a fighter than I expected, I guess because he’s the chaplain and his main job is to talk to people. He is a badarse in his own right.

Thankfully, after all the intense emotions of not only their love story but the MC series arc, the epilogue is gooey and sweet.

Rubi plays a significant role in this book in preparation for his book which is next and if you didn’t love him in the first two books, you will now.

Alexei, Cam, and Saint are principal players in this book as well and Alexei becomes more human and shows his softer side to Mateo.

Decoy is more intriguing now…and I wonder if he’ll get a book.

Beautifully broken men

mbry and Mateo *takes a deep breath* spectacular.
So much love. So much devotion. So much understanding.
I love them so much.
Embry’s past is so heartbreaking. Mateo’s filled with pain.
Both together? *swoons* beautiful.
Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because I do feel that the beginning is so unnecessarily long. I feel that I finally get interested after the first 50%

Narration 3/5 because I miss 20% of what they say and I have to go back.
