Anthony Giardino, professor of English Literature, writes his next book from his favorite café when his future is threatened by a forbidden love; a love that hinders his emotional life and plunges him into depression.
Rocio, a waitress ten years younger than the writer, charms him with her beauty. Her charm makes the professor forget his promise to God to care for his terminally ill wife until death; at home, his wife sick for seventeen years needs his love and care, but his love for Rocio now leads Anthony to reconsider his wife's wish: she wants her death, her euthanasia.
