good info, bad recording

I very much enjoyed the content of the book and think it is excellent for anyone on a spiritual journey. The recording, however, is surprisingly bad for someone in the entertainment industry. A professional audio technician should have been hired and the audiobook should have been edited. The author sounds like he randomly recorded in echoing areas at times, page turns and lip smacks were left in, retakes are left in and at times he speaks really fast like he just wants to hurry up and be done. I believe the content warranted a really professional presentation.

WOW!!

I completely Loved this book. It was by far the best book I ever had. It is so good I am replaying it. The narrator was the best narrator I ever heard. I loved his voice it was extremely pleasant. This book really got me thinking about The in between life. Truly... I never though about it before.

Great materials, unbiased, factual, grounded.

Would you consider the audio edition of Flipside to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

Throughout the book he references to numerous situations that are substantiated with objective facts, and same facts from different therapists, authors, patients. I read Michael Newton's 3 books some 15 years ago, and respect his approach:- question and answer format, that requires tremendous work; detailed, comprehensive, unbiased, acute observation, with the benefit of doubt at hand.

No. I have not listened to his other performances.

Reading subjects like this, life after death, (including bible), requires our outmost Critical Thinking skills, Intuition, inner sense, insights and Mindfulness, keen observational skills; to separate the wheat from the chaff. And in my view, both Michael Newton's and Martini's work stand on solid ground. I give 5 stars. Thank you Richard Martini for your great work, and putting yourself through this ordeal.

Interesting Content but Very Poor Narration

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not sure if it was worth my time due to poor narration.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He kept making mistakes, like starting his sentences over again.

Any additional comments?

The content seemed to be interesting, but due to all the mistakes of the narrator, I found myself starting to listen for and even counting the mistakes instead of concentrating on the book's contents. Should have had a professional narrator.

Recommended, even with flubs, sneeze, etc.

I highly recommend this book because of the research, content and theme AND because of the passion of the Author/Narrator. However, a few statements and points are repeated, audio quality varies, like Martini recorded in different rooms. Obviously, there was not a sound man or book editor or professional narrator involved.
BUT ONLY MARTINI CAN DO IT! Yes, Martini reads his own material, complete with a gap of silence, a sneeze, mistakes and flubs.
🤔 BUT HIS PASSION, TEARS, LAUGHTER, EMOTION make the books engaging! I've already purchased ALL of Martini's books, so you KNOW I am a fan ... even if he is a Democrat...

Narrator is the writer, it was decent, but nothing memorable, as far as the speaking. the book was good, but michael newtons books are far better.

I really enjoyed this book! It has given me an in depth understanding to a subject that truly interest me!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

yeah, the narration. the first part was great but then.....

How could the performance have been better?

during the middle of the book..... as Richard reads the interviews of past life progressions he became more monotone. I get it that he may have been attempting to convey the atmosphere of such a sacred event but I could not finish listening to the book. I am so disappointed. I listen to radio and books while I work an overnight job. I gotta stay awake.

Could you see Flipside being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

yes....I couldn't finish the book. I don't know about characters. I haven't tried to fast forward to a place that may be able to keep my attention. I may try. I love this subject...love what Richard has done to open my own eyes. I would love to see anything on this subject made into a movie.

I may return this audible copy and just buy the hard copy to read. I heard an interview with Richard Martini on Coast to Coast and I was hooked on his work about this subject. I think he has made great progress at getting to the truth of our lives.....and I need this. I want to know more.
