Acerca de esta escucha

Beware the games that can leave you burned…

Valentina has spent her life working as an elite agent for the Coalition. After a rescue effort goes horribly wrong, she's taken to the Omni Towers where she finds herself embroiled in a masterful game of chess and she's the hunted queen.

With the Coalition poised on the brink of civil war and ready to rescind their alliance with The Omni Towers, Valentina must quickly get to the bottom of who is behind the sinister plot targeting their leadership.

When shipments of weapons go missing and buried secrets emerge, Valentina is forced into facing her past and playing the deadliest game of her life. Unfortunately, the stakes of this gamble are higher than anyone could have anticipated and not even a love forged in fire may be enough to save their people from destruction.

Epic installment in an epic world...

“Sometimes, a perceived accident is Fate in disguise,” Alec suggested with a small smile.

This book picks up right where Drop of Hope leaves off, it’s no less exciting than any of the other books in the series thus far, though it’s more complex in some ways.

I strongly recommend this series. This one did leave me hanging a bit, though I don’t mind since the next book is available currently. Just a tip that you should read books 4-6, and in order. And the whole thing will make more sense if you’ve read books 1-3.

I was repeatedly impressed by Waters’s brilliance, there are some fun, profound quotes and more characters to love and to hate. I’ll admit, I loved Kayla’s books so much that I didn’t think I could or would like the rest of the series but Valentina has grown on me quite a bit.

This book is flawless with professional editing, proofing and formatting there is absolutely nothing to distract from the reader experience. The cover is obviously professional as we. I can find no reason to give this any less than 5 stars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

*Updated due to a re-read (listen, as it’s now out on audio) August 2024.
This narrator is AMAZING! Her accents, her varied voices, all so smooth, and clear and believable. She almost made it sound like a full-cast production. 5 stars.

I will say that whenever I read/ re-read / listen to the editions that don’t focus on Kayla, I miss her and wonder what she’s getting up to. But that said, I love Valentina (& crew’s) books just as much.

Still 5 stars.

Love this world

This is the fifth book/first series I've read/listened to by Jamie A. Waters. Fantasy is not my normal genre, but I am loving this world. I am completely invested. The reason for the four star is because we are getting another triangle romance. This one involving Valentina. I have been looking forward to Sergi getting his story, so thrilled about that. I took off a whole star this time for this trope repetition.

We still get an audiobook filled with likable characters, characters to hate, action, drama, and the suspense of where it was all leading. We get a cliffhanger with this audiobook! Looking forward to what comes next!

Paige Reisenfeld is an amazing narrator. She voiced the male and female characters perfectly. She's quickly becoming a favorite narrator! It's rare for someone to make me forget I'm listening to one narrator. She performed with emotion that had this rolling like a movie in my head. Perfection!

Entertaining!

This is the fifth book in The Omni Tower Series. This is a series with an ongoing plot. This is another great addition to the series. The world building is complex, and intriguing. Paige Reisenfeld did an excellent job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Spirit of the Towers, the next book in the series. #PFPAudio

Absolutely loved this one!

Ok, this one is definitely one of my favorites of the series. I do wish the characters stories were a little more... interconnected. But that's just me being picky. The narrator was fantastic, as usual. She does a great job with the Russian sounding accents. It was all very well done!

Good for what it is I just expected more

was excited for this story. Sergi is a past character that I loved to hate but he eventually grew on me. It is an okay story only because this seems to be a why choose story. Valentina gets three me plus has other clamboring to be with her. Her fighting skills are exceptional and I wanted her and Sergi to have e a mice complete story. So I didnt love it like I expected I would. Paige Reisenfeld does a good job on the narration. She has a lot of Russian accents to master in here.
